I think Elkhart may surprise a few people. They certainly can"t compete with the likes of Teague or Malakoff (I almost typed that with a straight face), but they should make some noise.

You should of typed it with a straight face BC elkhart won't be in the same class again this year as Teague and malakoff. Westwood beats Elkhart to take 3rd this year and Elkhart will battle a stronger Eustace team for fourth.

Teague

Malakoff

Westwood

Elkhart

Eustace

Kemp

Westwood brings back everyone they are the dark horse if those kids are still buying into the Hayes way!

You are really underestimating the coaching staff over in Elkhart. Gonna be a very physical battle whenever the Elks are on the field. They are just as amped as those Westwood kids are about their staff. Neither team will be pushover anytime soon...

Teague will take on 4a Waco Robinson in Teague on Sat at 9 am. Last year scrimmage was a good one and look for both teams to get a lot out of it. Coach Tommy Allison and the Rockets are looking at yet another playoff run.Coach Donnie Osborn look to improve on an 11-1 record. At one time Coach Allison was the OC and Coach Osborn was the DC at Teague back in the 90's.

Let's be honest - Teague threw 40-60 points up on the scoreboard all season last year because they their opponents weren't on the same level. That's fine. But second round, they came up against a program THEY weren't on the same level with. Some teams just have that "something extra." People in Daingerfield probably won't admit it, but in 2010 they breathed a big sigh of relief to get off the field with that "W" after their five Div 1A signees just couldn't get the Yoemen to quit and go away. Newton, Hallettsville... Yoe has broken more than a few hearts the last few years because they have a tradition of not quitting.

What's the point to your post? Everyone knows this about the Yoe? What are you trying to get across to everyone?

Somebody made a point essentially that Yoe got lucky against Teague last year, and that they're coming after Yoe this year. Just pointing out that - and it's my hope that all high school football programs develop this - some teams have a different level of pride. We get asked about this by our rivals across the river all the time. For example - I don't remember the last season there wasn't at least two or three former players on the coaching staff. I know right now there's a former starting OL from the 2012 title team in college whose plan is to come back to Yoe and coach. That's his ambition. That's the type of commitment to the program they cultivate at Yoe.

Well after week one it is safe to say it is a two team race again everyone else is playing for third!

How about kemp though big win for that program! Congrats

Malakoff and Teague score in the 60

Elkhart pulled away late against buffalo and buffalo could of easily won this game.

Westwood escaped

Eustace lost

But hey it's week won anything can happen in the next 6weeks before district. Good luck everyone next week!

Westwood had multiple turnovers costly penalties and int that hurt them. but they kept there composer and pulled it off. They had a tough time stopping that 270 fullback that they gave the ball to over and over again
