16-5A Preseason

How is everyone feeling about the upcoming year? We are 60 days away from most teams first game. Should be another fun and competative season in 16-5A...Personally I am looking forward to seeing Nac open their stadium with the new turf, it looks sharp driving by the stadium.

I expect a down year from Nac after their last 2 years. They are young and have a lot of questions at the skilled positions. Their defense has to improve this year especially against the run.

A couple of questions I have for the season.

-Will anyone step up and compete with Eniis and JT??

-Can Nac make it 3 in a row over LP, and win on the road at ABE??

-Are the 3rd and 4th place teams in the district above .500??

-Can Ennis repeat??

As for Ennis no.

Yes a couple of teams will be able to compete with JT and Ennis. The last two years has seen JT lose a district game. I hope that ends this year.

With JT, their losses are to very good teams in close games. They typically beat the teams they are supposed to beat. You dont see them get beat by a team that has no business being on the field with them.

Tyler Lee a few years ago...

It doesnt happen very often and rivalry games are definately unpredictable.

Lets put it a different way, they dont lose to a bottom of the district type team very often. even if you count REL as a bottom of the district team they are 6a.

Don't know what to expect from my Lions this year...really looking forward to Longview scrimmage to get an idea how good we can be in 16-5A.

When we got knocked out by Whitehouse in the first round in 2012, a former player who is very knowledgeable about the talent coming up Ennis accurately predicted we would title contenders in 2013 and 2014. He is telling me now we are two years away from making another run like the past 2 years.

So I'm going way, way out there on a limb and say we WON'T repeat this year!!! :D

Ennis will be ennis.. Great coaching, talented players. Tough to beat. Looking forward to another great Lp/ennis game

So am I!

I think it will still be a wide open race for three playoff spots. Unlike last year, when I could not pick a district favorite at this point, I'm picking John Tyler as my preseason favorite.

LufkinPanther06, nah,,Law of Attraction,,,and I know what will be on the field. This 2015 team is even better then the 2014 State Championship team. No worries for Lufkin, 3 available spots remaining. Will be a great year ! ,,,Cya in Ennis this year.
