Tyler Lee's Darrell Piske out as Head Coach

If they clean house at Texas, Charlie Strong will get hired ANYWHERE.....and Traylor will be able to go with him! Doubt he's interested in coaching at Lee while he still has children playing at Gilmer!

Traylor is there as a recruiting tool for east Texas, if Strong is released after this year he will be heading to florida(the state not the school), possibly to Miami Hurricanes. In that scenario Traylor would not be useful to him and would be available. He would be on the short list for every open coaching position in the state not just east Texas.

Go way further Northeast oldhornet! That team to the Southeast has just missed the playoffs... again...

Ok, we can get more specific. The school he had coached at just a little to the south made the playoffs for ten years in a row, and had about four or five 10 win + seasons. TEN IN A ROW! Before his arrival they regularly saw many homecoming games when traveling, and had never had a 10 win season. FOR YEARS! Some didn't even know they played football. Many thought they only played basketball at this school. He had built a very strong football program. The administration felt football was getting to big for their britches, so they "went in a different direction". While all the time, the other programs also thrived. Both boys and girls! He left and they have crumbled back to crowning queens in just three years, and many of their other sports have become below average. He is now in charge of a powerhouse school in the land of the HOGS! Tremendous with kids, has very strong Christian values, and flat out knows how to develop a winning program.

Sounds like a great coach but that is not Kerry Strong's story you just told so the word is...irrelevant.

He would be a great hire for Lee. Could get things rolling!

Rel was able to get him, the school to the south east would lose any talent it does have. The super and the school board can go back to enjoying the "new" direction while the stands empty out at halftime.

What a shame!!!

No, he is the AD only according to that school wedsite...The program he took over was 2-8 the season before he arrived, they have gone 12-1-1 and went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs his first year. This year they are 8-2 and the district runner up, playoffs start this week.

I know who you are talking about Nac...and he's a proven winner. I can't think of another program in east Texas...maybe the state that had a turnaround quite like that south Smith county school had under his leadership.

But greeter is talking about someone else that he said is friends with the principal. Any other hints Greeter?

Pretty sure Nac, etxchamp, blueduck and myself are all talking about the same former HC/AD of a school southeast of Tyler. He's currently an AD out of the state.

Greeter, sounds like I know what school you're talking about. Don't know much about them other than they have grown quickly. He's been the HC there maybe 5 years? Sound right?
