ScotlandtheBrave
Outstanding season at Rice and a great story behind this young man and his Coach! Luke Turner has seen a lot of life already at a very young age! All the best to this young man going forward!: http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/121643/watch-rices-luke-turner-gives-a-heartfelt-emotional-post-game-speech

GTownballer
Luke is a student of the game, and is a true competitor, hopefully he gets a shot at the next level,,, he still owns one of the best hits in High School football for me! All the luck in the world to Luke, he deserves it!
BlueDuckSaddle
Can't measure a young man's heart. You can tell by his emotion that he loved the game and loved his coach. He is one great young man and was successful because he had a heart the size of Texas!
Hookemhorns88
It made Jimmy Kimmel last night. Though they poked at him a little for only having a couple of people in the press conference.
BlueDuckSaddle
Safe to say it reached a HUGE crowd, despite the number of those in the room. Yes, the room was not packed with people, but despite what many think many of the post game player interview rooms look just like that during a normal week. The back drops just make them seem like it is a huge arena/press conference.
leadbrute
I'm a Rice alum who saw many of Luke's games the past 4 years. His versatility, competitiveness, and leadership were quite evident from my vantage point. I'm glad he is a Rice Owl.
blackflag79
I would have loved to have seen him have more opportunities to shine at the collegiate level, but he did get a top notch education for sure. Maybe he will try out for the next level. No doubt Luke has the heart of a champion, though.

leadbrute
This probably isn't news to many of you, but Luke played on 3 bowl teams during his career at Rice. Two years ago, he was the MVP of the Conference USA Championship Game, which Rice won over (We Are) Marshall.

JBizzle
He broke his foot in the Gilmer and Carthage game of 2011.. And y'all still beat us! Very fortunate injury for Rice, if that's how he ended up there. And a great school to attend!

ScotlandtheBrave
His Dad is one of the best "people" as well Scotty. He takes after his dad in that regard as well. Luke is a special young man. Can see and hear his outstanding character all through that video AOB. Everything that I have read or heard prior to seeing that pointed that same way as well. To have lost his senior year and bounced back the way that he did was a study in character and overcoming adversity, both for Luke and for his team and community. Hear hear for one of the great ones and a young man we could all be proud to have our own emulate!

buckeyebob
The break was a great story...Start of season, we had two QBs...Luke & Jordan Traylor (they started 1st grade together)...Coach would make a decision on QB by District...each week we got the update @ the Booster Club lunch...Momma had him on the couch cause her baby wasn't the QB...the two alternated, both showing their stuff...Luke got the job & Jeff got off the couch...Playing the Dawgs, Luke breaks his leg...Jordan comes in as 2nd string, drives down the field, & scores...we win
