HTaylor Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Robbie Coplin: Stephenville Lake Travis Joshua Sadler Liberty, TX CE King Supt to make site visits and check resumes over the next two weeks. Bring to the next board meeting (February 15th) and hire that night...start the next day.
playactionpass39 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Robbie Copeland would be a great hire. He has worked for some good coaches and learned the right way to build a program. He is a strong supporter of all sports and a solid family man. He would lead with a positive attitude and get the kids excited about the process. Good luck to Coach Copeland and ND. We could all learn something from HTaylor. It takes a big man to admit that he was wrong. Investigate and ask questions, it's amazing what you can learn.
chiphilton Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 What? New Diana is open? When did that happen? I kid, I kid. Good luck.
BillyClydePuckett Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 What? New Diana is open? When did that happen? I kid, I kid. Good luck. Funny guy. Shouldn't you be worried about someone's backstroke? 1
TexasSt Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Joshua Sadler coming from C.E. King will be a shock. Totally different athletes at King.
DLineEATS Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Coach Sadler will do just fine with "these type of athletes".
TexasSt Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Have you lost your mind?????? ND has no way the same athletes as King does.
The Real Mavfan Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I dont think that is what he was saying. Read more to me that he was saying Sadler would do well with any group of kids.
30-1-1 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 http://www.har.com/school/101924001/c-e-king-high-school 65% Hispanic 25% African American 7% White
playactionpass39 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Again, the comment was aimed more at Sadler's ability to relate to all kids. He is a good coach. But, Copeland is an Offensive mind and ND has struggled badly in this area recently. I think they need an infusion of Offensive thinking and Copeland has been with kids more in line with ND's population.
chiphilton Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Funny guy. Shouldn't you be worried about someone's backstroke? Hey, its not "my season" yet. Still watching YouTube to figure out how to coach it.
TexasSt Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I wasn't talking about the race make up of each school. I speak of the athletic ability that is King has that ND doesn't. I am sure he is a great offensive mind, but Jet Sweep with a kid running a 4.5 is totally different than a kid running a 4.9.
Eagleborn Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 No a C.E. King, its a highschool lol I know that... But if it's who I'm thinking of he once coached at Hawkins or is from there.... I wasn't talking about the race make up of each school. I speak of the athletic ability that is King has that ND doesn't. I am sure he is a great offensive mind, but Jet Sweep with a kid running a 4.5 is totally different than a kid running a 4.9. Might also be a difference in handing off a a ND running back or a RB that's going to TAMU...
DLineEATS Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Thats why they call it coaching.... You adapt to your athletes strengths. He will do an awesome job for the community, school district, athletic program, and the kids. He's coached/ coordinated both sides of the ball. He understands kids, and will do just fine relating/coaching "these kids".
CapNTMo Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Sadler from C.E. King graduated high school from Hawkins.

I am sure he is a great offensive mind, but Jet Sweep with a kid running a 4.5 is totally different than a kid running a 4.9. Unless you are playing a team full of 4.5's on defense the Jet Sweep is a GREAT play if your fastest guy is 4.9. You are getting the ball in the hands of your fastest skill kid at full speed. You think it is better tossing that 4.9 kid the ball and he has to get going out of stance? I am thrilled that they hired someone so now the drama has to at least change topics around here. 1
bluelion Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 who did they hire? They have two finalists. The supt. will visit both schools of the two finalists and then take his pick to the board in a couple of weeks.
CapNTMo Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 There are 2 finalists. Robbie Coplin Joshua Saddler The school board meets Feb 15th to name the new AD. Super is working on backgrounds to pick his finalist.
CapNTMo Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 There is a booster club meeting tonight at 6pm in the gym foyer for those who would like to attend. I invite all the ND voices here to attend and welcome anyone.
salty1 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Been kind of quiet on here. They've had it narrowed down to 2 finalists for 2 weeks and no action has been taken? I'm going to have to check with my Diana people to see what is going on. Either the loud people have gotten their way or Diana has dripped the ball. I'll be checking for an update.
TTman7 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I think they're just waiting for the scheduled board meeting next week. And the Supt has been making visits to the finalists' schools for backgrounds. Does anyone know if either or both of the finalists has any kids in high school that play sports?
