OLEMAN Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Which 2 or 3 teams look the strongest. The Hooks/DK score was a shocker
Hookem73 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 PL 17 Cooper 10 Final. Score didn't reflect game. 3 games this week let a few pitch the last 2 innings to save on pitching.
DKBearFan Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 A good place to keep up is at www.txhighschoolbaseball.com/3a/15-3a/
BlackBeard Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Monday NB 13 Paris Chisum 1 Tuesday NB 8 Cooper 2
BlackBeard Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I see Hooks as the strongest and NB, DK, PL, RW being close behind. DK beat PL 7-3 on Tuesday.
OLEMAN Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Looks to me that every team has an ace pitcher that brings on the wins. Whoever has a couple of non-superstar but solid pitching has the edge. For sure there is no team as of het stands out in this dist. In most cases that would be a sign of a weak Dist. In this case I believe it is a very strong dist

New Boston has a freshman pitcher that is doing well and a sophomore pitcher who is 3-0 right now. The junior pitcher has been used as a closer but did pitch the entire game against DK. From what I've seen the last 3 years I think the district as a whole is weaker.

BowieC Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Could be interesting the rest of the way. I thought Hooks was a little better than rest of dist. But had a meltdown against Pland. We'll see how they bounce back against NB
Hookem73 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Looks like district has the potential of ending like last year with 3 teams tied at the end. Don't believe there is any team going to run away with district. 1

BowieC Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I think Hooks Pland and NB will be top 3 red and Dek could battle for 4th
supermaroon Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Ouch looks like the Bulldogs are in for a long season can they pick up a win? and looks the 4 teams a the top will be punching it out for 1st should be an exciting finish to the season.
67footballFan Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 DeKalb always starts slow. coach really evaluates all his possibilities before he sets a more consistent line up. hopefully they will pick it up towards the end. First district game was not a good game to judge dekalb off of. all the other games have been close. I was told NB pitcher threw 142 pitches the other night. I am sorry but I don't think any kid should throw that many pitches. coach should have more concern for his kids than he does for wins. 1
BlackBeard Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 DeKalb beat PL and lost two close ones to NB and RW with interesting coaching decisions in those two losses. I think had DK put their lefty in one inning earlier in the NB game that DK could have pulled out a win. I see DK just as strong as NB, RW or PL. The season is still early with 8 games left to play for everyone but PL.
supermaroon Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Yeah unfortunately I feel the same way I haven't been out to see them play in a few years wonder what the deal late 90's early 2000's Cooper was a dominant force to be reckoned with.
