Gilmer 2 Kilgore 1

http://txhighschoolbaseball.com/4a/16-4a/

Gilmer clinches 2nd.

After being 1 out and a 3-run lead away from being tied for a playoff spot, and losing the game, Chapel Hill can still salvage a tie for 4th with their last game being against Kilgore.

Spring Hill takes on Gladewater.

Gilmer vs. Bullard, as Bullard tries to go undefeated in district.

Scenarios for Friday and final 2 spots:

Kilgore wins over CH:

Kilgore #3 seed and SH #4

CH wins and SH Wins @ GW:

SH #3 seed and CH #4 seed

CH wins and SH loses @ GW:

3 way deadlock tie (4-6) for SH, Kilgore, CH..........SH swept CH, Kilgore swept SH, and CH will have swept Kilgore with win.

Chapel Hill loses to Pleasant Grove 3-2 in the one game series. Two of pleasant Grove's runs were helped in by walks/errors. Chapel Hill left atleast 2 base runners on in atleast 3 innings that I recall, including the bottom of the 7th.

Pittsburgh 9

Bullard 3

That makes 16-4A 0-4 today.

Geeze....guess our district wasn't that competitive?

Maybe Bullard and Gilmer will make a run tomorrow. Good Luck!!

I haven't seen a score for the Bullard/Pittsburg game 2, but I've seen some tweets where Pittsburg is on to rd 2.

Pitt 3-1 in Game 2.

District 16 scored a total of 6 runs in 6 games. Was the 15-4A pitching that good or 16-4A hitting that weak?

No one in D-16 had a particularly good offense this season, but Bullard probably had the 2 best pitchers in the district and the best defense by a wide margin. How they drop 2 in a row to a #4 after winning twenty-something in a row is a little mind-boggling.
