Here's the current district "standings," though it don't really matter 'cause no one's played any district games yet. But just to give you an overall idea how things are going:

4-0 Tenaha (168-12)

3-1 Wortham (101-79)

2-1 Timpson (122-48)

2-1 Overton (100-76)

2-2 Grapeland (150-143)

1-3 Mt. Enterprise (76-149)

I'm just trying to liven things up. Nobody talks any smack anymore. Shoot, if it wasn't for the forbidden "r" word, the Overton-Carlisle thread woulda just been a boring blah blah blah "it's a rivaly, anything can happen" sandbagging contest.

I gave that thread my all and that's how you feel about it? Ok, I guess.

Week 5 Match-ups

Mount Enterprise at Big Sandy

Mount Enterprise... with the shocking upset.

Overton... wins on a last-second field goal.

West Sabine... hangs half-a-hunnerd on the Fightin' Greezy Chefs.

Timpson... survives a shootout over Lovelady.

Wortham... blows out Granger.

Grapeland... where y'all at? <crickets>

It's been a tough few weeks. Lost a few players for the season and still have some out. Both starting linebackers have been out and both lead the team in tackles last year. One is out for the season. Alot of young kids got a lot of playing time vs Buffalo, and Colmesneil.

Needed this bye week.

Man, hate to hear that. Injuries at any level are tough, but losing a buncha guys is just brutal in small-school ball. Nothing can flip an 8-2 season into 2-8 like the injury bug.

I'm going to go check out Westwood vs Elkhart.

Got to watch a lil jr high action tonight. Thought it was going to be a good game. Trinity 8th grade is full of big kids. But it didn't turn out to be a good game. Grapeland beat them 42-6.

I'm at home watching Andy Griffith.. Our boys behind yuga 6-0

Tenaha vs WS 8th grade game was physical. Tenaha won 36-12.

Tenaha's junior high teams are fun to watch and we had a good turnout.

Wish Ida watched it..

Junior high throws it deep. Run real balanced offense. Disciplined too. I don't think we had a SINGLE penalty tonight, that's huge for Tenaha. I think we held ws to 2 first downs, and 1 score. There other score came on a kick return.

WS running backs trucked our lbs a few times . It was a lot of hitting for both teams.
