Nonothing
Int's or fumbles not mistakes? But yes pg did get after them We had this discussion last year:) No INTs and fumbles aren't mistakes. The defense caused them both...they just don't happen all by themselves. Anyway, I think Gilmer wins this game and reps the district well, as usual. tdJesus
Nally and some of his Frankston boys are calling the offensive shots now. Should be a much different outcome this time around. Typically, I see Gilmer play a game or two by this point. Not this year, but I've heard they are not quite the Gilmer of old. I have seen Melissa play. They're really young, but they can run the ball, and if you overcommit to that, here comes the air raid... Your guess is as good as mine, but don't be shocked if Gilmer is "putting their sh!t up," as a buddy of mine says, after this game. Redbirds might just get a chance to practice some football, eat some turkey, and play a game next week. If not, at least they will get a ton of experience for a deep run next year. We shall see.
Skeptic
I don't think that it's about not respecting Melissa as much as those in this area just knowing Gilmer. Gilmer, no matter how bad their fans think they play, finds a way to win and usually by a wide margin. As far as the boys playing the game, I can promise you nothing said on this or any website would make them overconfident. They are confident, but it's because they know how to win and always, no matter how much time is left, believe they can win. It's not arrogance, just belief in themselves and their teammates. Never bet against Gilmer! No matter who they are playing. Jasper learned that the hard way.
blackflag79
Sorry, I'm just not seeing it. I think Melissa scores some points against us, but I can't see their defense being able to stop us consistently. The only team that can beat Gilmer in this one is Gilmer, with turnovers, penalties, lack of intensity or focus, etc.
metalhead10
I didn't see that many mistakes...I did see PG get after them and almost pull the upset. This year, PG had them beat until the last quarter but PG has proven to be a good, tough underestimated team. If they replay that game today, PG wins easily. OLEMAN
Gilmer should take it by several points. Gilmer may be be a bit down this year but not that much
michaelmyers
Traylor was gone last year and you were crying like a socialist all season. I am the most anti-Hillary person in America. I heard you tried to leave the country but needed 2 plane seats for yourself and only one was available. You said I was giving advice to the coaches.I said during the traylor era.No I don't give advice anymore since traylor left.I was crying last year because of the laughter of some of the things I saw going on.The Traylor era Was awesome!Hated to see it end!Are you sure that wasn't you on the news crying?Them ears sure did look familiar.Troll away

AnOldBuckeye
If anybody puts Gilmer out, it will be in part because we are fumble prone, at times, and are probably one of the most penalized teams in our district, and they did the same thing last week against Diboll. And they weren't caused by the defense. So far we've lost a lot of turnovers even without being touched by an opponent. If we stop the turnovers, and cut the penalties by even 50%, we're going to make it a tough row to hoe for a bunch of teams. If not,,, we might have to pull out the cryin' towels. GoodOleBoy73
Gilmer probably wins this game, but it will be much closer than people expect. I've seen Melissa play three times. From what I see, they are a COMPLETELY different team than they were the last two years (obviously the record reflects that). From everything I hear about Gilmer (defense being suspect, penalties, turnovers, "beating ourselves", etc), I would not be surprised if Melissa keeps it close and/or pulls of the upset. I'm just hopeful for a great game. Can't wait for Friday!

All joking aside, I really appreciate your enthusiasm and support for PG. Good luck against Wills Point, I think the Hawks take it and advance, just like Buckeyes will do against Melissa.

AnOldBuckeye
I am predicting a Buckeye victory,,,,, but,,, it won't be big IMHO. I'm pretty sure Melissa will score a bunch of points on us. We haven't been tackling well by and large. So,,,, those extra yards from missed or sloppy tackling tend to turn into moving chains,,,, Hard to keep a team out of your end zone if you don't stop those stinkin' chains.
