Gilmer scored every way possible in the first quarter: touchdown, safety, field goal, extra point, & 2 point conversion. 2. Gilmer took the wind and that put Melissa behind the 8 ball. They couldn't move the football at all. Gilmer lined up their linebacker over the slot receiver and blitzed him on 3 straight 3rd downs and Melissa never picked it up. 3. Gilmer had some hiccups on offense, but they overcame them every time. Penalties didn't kill drives in the first half. 4. I don't know how good Melissa was on offense. All week we heard they could be explosive. Sure didn't see it tonight. Don't know how much of that was Gilmer's defense. But certainly it was their most dominant performance. Â That's really it.
