Steve Marrs won more games in East Texas than anyone. Harmony.Gilmer, Gladewater, Harelton. and Pine Tree. Andy Malone has more wins but many came when he was coaching in West Texas.

Coach Marrs had some good Harmony teams in the 80s. That gave way to Coach Pirtle. Then Joe Koesel and Ronnie McNeel. I'd say we've had a very good solid program over the years.

Define the best coach. I the one that has a loaded bunch of kids and goes deep into the playoff or is it the coach that coaches at a school wit three wins over the past three seasons and brings them to500+ the first year

No way you can leave the Pirtle brothers off this list

Terry was our junior high coach before he went to Pine Tree. He was Mike's assistant baseball coach and assistant football coach to Coach Whitaker at Harmony.

Paul Phillips deserves as much of that credit. He was with LE for their trips to Austin in 2006 and 2007, then the hawks

playoff runs started after he got to PG.

Also, Rick Fowler in his 27 years at Liberty Eylau

Where is coach Phillps now? And also was he responsible for calling the pitches all them years at PG?

Scott Lee has to be on that list. He had an amazing bout 20 year run at Carthage. Won a state championship in old 4a and had another runner up team before we moved down to 3a. Won another title in 3a. Had a crazy run of 20 win seasons in a row. He had some amazing talent, but his results speak for themselves.

And He's a hall of fame coach.
