Pick one from 7 to go west & North Then what you going to do with Hooks?

Golfingnut where are your predictions for these three districts I tried to go back and find them and couldn't remember which thread.

I have

White Oak, Gladewater, Tatum, Sabine, West Rusk

Atlanta, New Boston, Hooks, Hughes Springs, Jefferson & Redwster

Mineola, Mt Vernon, Winnsboro, Rsins, Lone Oak & Commerce

Still need another team with the first district. Could move in Mineola but can't figure out another team that would fit with the numbers.

Move Jefferson up to First district.

Then Mt. Vernon up to district 2    Everyone would be singing "Turn out the Lights the party is over"

Should be easier to find a team in that area even going further N & W to fill in district 3.

Unfortunately for Troup (@ 324), they are also right on the edge ... Padilla cast a vote for 325 at cutoff ... Stepp at 330 ....last year was 318 ... and BS Harmony turned in 321

Did Mt. Vernon win any championships when Danny Don was there; baseball or FB? Is that Mt. Vernon's only claim to fame?

Just a reminder on the cutoffs for the last two years

4A Division I: 723-1,099
4A Division II: 480-722
3A Division I: 319-479
3A Division II: 221-318
2A Division I: 158-220
2A Division II: 105-157
1A Division I: 59-104.9
1A Division II: 58 and below

I believe they beat a really good Gilmer team in the 50's when Meredith was there. Can't remember if it was 56 or 57.

If they do drop that bottom number it would bring quite a few more teams into the mix. Guessing I don't think they will but I also am not sure the top number will stay high enough to drop Gladewater, Tatum & Atlanta. I never can predict what the UIL will do.

I didn't do that because I checked the teams west and couldn't find one that was close enough. All that being said I based my predictions on putting teams together based on proximity to each other. We know the UIL doesn't always do that.

One thing I CAN say is that numbers don't go down ... I have seen them stay the same, especially in the lower classes ... but I can't remember in this century them ever going down

guess we will find out tommorow!!!   Maybe!!!

Maybe is right. Word is maybe another 2-week delay to figure out some Harvey affected schools.

Didn't know they had internet in Kansas. I thought that Hogwash was up there to get a load of sunflower seed.

If they haven't figured it out by now, do you think another two weeks is going to matter?  Two more weeks to twiddle their thumbs and look into the crystal ball for answers ... :woot:

Was told that numbers would not be out til next week or even week after.  That came from the head man himself.

I don't believe anything that isn't posted on the UIL website .... Everybody knows someone who knows someone, or claims to have heard something from the horse's mouth.  Why doesn't the "horse" post a statement on the UIL website? ....

How the UIL is going to divide the numbers is not affected by Harvey.......the only thing affected by Harvey is what classification schools will fall under...THAT doesn't come out until February......can't wait to see the numbers today........

The number of schools in each division does affect. there are some schools still trying to determine whether they will rebuild or combine with another school. This is one thing they look at when putting out the numbers for each division, trying to have a workable number in each division. Dividing into districts will come later.
