Longview sent their statement to the rest of the region following their 42-21 demolishing of the Beaumont West Brook Bruins. The Lobos held a slight 7-6 lead at halftime only to come out roaring in the 3rd quarter to the tune of a 28-point quarter and a 35-14 lead. Another touchdown added in the fourth pushed the Longview lead to 42-14 before the Bruins finally broke the scoring run in the final minutes with the second stringers in. For Longview, it avenges a loss to these same Bruins from a year quarter. A loss that saw the Lobos blow a 10-point lead in the 4th quarter down in Beaumont to fall 34-33. The win gives the Lobos their 10th 10-win season under current head coach John King, and their 60th playoff win in program history. Next up for the Lobos is a familiar playoff opponent in the Dallas Jesuit Rangers. The Lobos and Rangers meet for the 3rd time in the playoffs, after previous meetings in 2004 and 2012. In 2004, the Rangers came in with a 10-1 record to the Area round meeting as the Lobos came in 11-0. In a rain drenched game, Longview walked away with a 44-14 victory. In the 2012 meeting, a profilic offense was suppose to give the Rangers a big chance but after a back and forth 1st quarter, Longview imposed their will on Jesuit and ran away with the contest with a 57-25 win. The Lobos return to John E. Kincaide Stadium for the first time since their 2013 Bi-District contest against Rowlett. Kincaide has become a 2nd home for previous Longview teams, as the Lobos sport a 10-0 record at the Dallas ISD based stadium. 9 of those 10 victories came in the post season. Those 3 of those games saw the Lobos not score 30 points, and only 2 of the games were within two scores. Longview will be looking to advance to their 10th Regional Round appearance under John King. LoboFan07
I’ll get everything updated tomorrow morning. But as I said, Jesuit has scored on every single team they have played this season. Defense is definitely going to have to work Saturday. 1
LoboFan07
Last night was one of the better home crowds we’ve had in a while. Hats off to everyone who came out and stayed. Lots of noise was made last night that you don’t usually hear now a days at home. On the road we go!
Lobouno
Jesuit leads the entire Dallas metroplex area 6a in passing receiving emmit smith - leads in total points scored jesuit is 1st in total offense nothing else u need to know about the offense! They are the best! Lobo up!
TheFootballFan
They are not the best offense in metro plex.... look at the first four games ... tough teams but styles of play dictate scores sometime.... lobo game will not be near those scores guaranteed! Decent team with zero defense...longview actually plays defense .... longview plays like it just did and All is good!

You would argue with the facts I got that from stats listed by Dallas morning news Thursday it is what it is...their stats put them #1 in class 6a in the metroplex area and that is impressive make no mistake they are more than decent on offense. Great offense and horrible defense I fully expect us to do as usual and hold them far under their average we just better be clicking on offense and make sure we get a good lead cause I don't like us getting behind big and needing to catch up...see the horn game

RandyJohnson
At first glance... Jesuit has played a schedule that's full off "Haves" AND "Have Nots". Give them credit for filling it with some true "Bluebloods" to offset a bottom heavy weakling District. Anyways...they've beaten every team that doesn't have a pulse or the "Have Nots" ! Moreover, they've lost to every team that has a pulse or the "Haves". Heck, one of them (Plano East) really wasn't very good this season. I think they'll be facing the best defense they have all season long AND it will show as THIS upcoming opponent definitely has a pulse ! As long as the Lobos don't implode with several turnovers...it will not be close !
LoboFan07
It’s hard for me to say this is the best D they’ll see all season as they did face Lake Travis...in Austin at that. But it’s definitely one of the better ones. If Skyline can keep them under 40, we definitely can.

Let's just say that Lake Travis has their typically strong team overall and they're one of the "Bluebloods" that I alluded to but even they allowed 45 to Jesuit. Yes...I know it was in Austin but still ! As for Skyline...they couldn't even make the playoffs this season in that putrid District. I'll still contend that this will be one of the best (if not the best) defenses they'll be facing and Longview will hold them to near their season low in ponts scored. We shall see ! I certainly hope this young man ends up at a bonafide D-I University and I ain't talking about no BS like Arkansas or the such where we never hear or see from our athletes again. I personally would LOVE for him to sign with my beloved Oklahoma Sooners but, it would be a travesty if he's not on TV playing on Saturdays in at least 3 years. We had one super athlete that left here and I see he has his hair in a "man bun" now. SMDH.... I guess, as long as he gets his free education that's the only thing that matters. It doesn't matter if you wear skin tight jeans to the point where you can't even f-a-r-t, flooding way above your ankles, with no socks on and penny loafers. 1

in10sz
There's football..and then there's Lobo Football. Watching a few small clips of them, I see that their offense is capable of racking up some points. I just know that our D is quicker, faster and meaner than any they have seen. We are balling right now and I don't expect anything less than BIG win Saturday at Lobo West!!

LoboFan07
It’s early in the week but I’m going to guess that’ll it’ll be similar to our last meeting with them. Back and forth for the first quarter and then bam. Wide open. Continue to create turnovers and get that pressure we need. I think Haynes getting his first playoff at home was huge. He settled down and dominated the rest of the night. Excited to see what he does against a defense that clearly has some issues.
LoboFan07
Just a reminder, after the game against West Brook... Haynes King, now 7-0 as a starter, tied Chumley for most passing touchdowns in a season by a sophomore with his two vs the Bruins. Also, Jaylin Brown is now tied with Malcolm Kelly for most receiving touchdowns in a career at Longview. Friday night was also Longview's 7th home victory of the season, the most wins at home in a single season since 1977.
