I don't think UIL likes 9 team districts unless it's forced (Fort Worth ISD, Dallas ISD and cases like that).  I think they are shooting for 7-8 team districts.

Hard to imagine MP and SS being separated when they are as close as they are to one another in the same classification.  It's easier to shuffle schools around in the metroplex than it is in East Texas.

I guess there is always the POSSIBILITY that Corsi could stay, but I doubt it.  SS and MP could both go south, but I doubt it.

So my final prediction for 5A Div II is:

Marshall, Hallsville, Pine Tree, Nacogdoches, Jacksonville, Whitehouse, and Lindale.

Prediction

White Oak, Tatum, Gladewater, Sabine, West Rusk

Atlanta, New Boston, Hooks, Hughes Springs, Jefferson, Redwater

Mt. Vernon, Rains, Winnsboro, Mineola, Lone Oak, Commerce

At 333 the Wusk Wusk Waiders lucked out and will stay down and do not move up

Goldingnut you have a revised plan now that we are down to a 4 team district?

What were the numbers on Shill?

This should/might get interesting for what will become the old 9-4A. So many schools dropping in attendance now days it looks like there could be a pretty long road trip for some in our district.

As far as Carthage having low numbers, all that matters is the football roster numbers he has. Look at it this way, Henderson has like 160 student advantage. But Carthage has the advantage when it comes to football numbers.

Who knows maybe we will go to a 5 team district. IDK.

I like the above prediction except I would make one change.... MP stays with the rest of the I-30 Corridor and goes west with SS.  Princeton will end up in a district further west.

District 1

Forney-1579

N.Forney-1445

Kaufman-1207

Sulphur Springs-1218

Greenville-1433

Terrell-1197

Royce City-1656

Mount Pleasant 1515

District 2

Nac-1756

Jacksonville-1313

Whitehouse-1379

Marshall-1407

Pine Tree-1307

Hallsville-1461

Lindale-1154

I absolutely HATE odd-numbered districts because of the bye weeks, but I'm guessing that will be the case again this time around.  I just don't see MP being placed in this district with Texas High going D I and the rest of the I-30 corridor going towards DFW.  That doesn't make sense.

Geographically..... District 2 makes complete sense because 4 of 7 are on the I-20 corridor.  This is almost the exact same district we saw in the 2004-2007 seasons and again in 2010 and 2011.  So there is a LOT of precedent for this district....simply because it's existed before in some fashion or another.

2004-2007:  Marshall, Hallsville, PT, WH, Jacksonville, Henderson, Kilgore, Nac

2010-2011: Marshall, Hallsville, Pine Tree, John Tyler, Jacksonville, Kilgore, Nac

So the core of six schools (Marshall, Hallsville, PT, Jax, Nac, and WH) have been together 6 seasons in the last 13 years or so.  Henderson, JT, and Kilgore have changed addresses a few times and Lindale has moved in.... other than that.... it's all been done before.

I think the easy solution is to just switch Lindale to District 1 and Mount Pleasant to district 2.  Lindale to Terrell, Forney, Kaufman and etc... is an easy drive because Lindale is just off Interstate 20. They can get to those places in an hour.

As EasyCompany said, WR will be Div I. SH stays put in 4A Div II. I believe they turned in 525.

We lost Center and Bullard. I wonder who UIL will send us?

If they sent anybody, it would virtually have to be Athens and/or Van ... from the district's relative mid-point, both are about 70 miles.

The next closest is probably 100-125 miles ... Considering the level of competitive play in this district year after year, maybe they should go with 4 or 5 so almost all could go to the playoffs ...

Better yet ... bring in Hudson with 836 and make 'em play ... need to bring an end to Basketball Sanctuary Cities ... it's UN-East Texan
