LOL ........ guess we will never know ........ ya'll choked that chicken dead like you choked the EF game ......... oh and 21 points ain't beating anybody's socks off ......... 40-0 with our seconds playing most of the 4th and scoring on you is beating your socks off ............ but hey .......... ya'll almost beat the State Champions rolling.gif

You show your idiocy, choking at EF would have been getting beat badly or giving it away at the end, wasnt anything more than the bad luck of our kicker getting hurt, and 21 to zip without starting rb and holding yall to less than 100yds total O for over 3 qtrs is a buttkicking.... since your O was so high powered, we went conservative and just played keep away is the reason for 21 to ZERO...

LAST POST. I have really enjoyed my time on here as a new poster.  I have always posted with respect and tried to understand and take with a grain of salt those who didn't.  Our sport is under siege with national outcries on health concerns and political maneuvering.  I coached for 28 years and love the sport, but don't know what is to become of it in the future. I'm retired now and will let others deal with the oncoming onslaughts.  The game was good to me.  Was a great source of bonding between me and my father, and me and my son.  The things I learned from the game I couldn't have learned anywhere else.  If it is time for things to change, so be it.  But i'll always be grateful for what it has meant to me.

All credit to Newton.  Gunter is a great football team and all teams have weaknesses, including Newton.  It took a team as talented as Newton to expose Gunter's weaknesses and Gunter could not expose theirs.   Very impressed by the approach by Newton on both sides of the ball.  Gunter just could not contain the pass and the run both, the way it was executed and with the talent they were executing it with.  We got Gunter'd last night. Huge congratulations.  I will say I could see this coming maybe, though not the way it got ugly in the 4th quarter.  Newton this year is an elite team, no question who was the best team in 3A II this year.

A few years ago we were playing a 4a team in non district and majority of this team was on JV. We didn't have a freshmen team so our JV played their freshmen team and won. Then our same JV team played their JV and lost by one score. So I guess 8 quarters of football would be their weakness.

Discipline.....y'all out-athleted the hell out of them though. Teams that loaded with athleticism always seem to be undisciplined though.

What is this discipline problem everyone talks about? They had what six penalties for false start in which finally the umpire called a penalty on them because they kept saying go and our kids where jumping. The offensive PI called on Newton in EZ was straight BS not even close to PI. They had just as many penalties as Newton did. Should of had more went back and watched game replay this morning they were dirty players kicking our kids getting off the pile etc.

Gunter started out the game sorta chippy, but was brought down to earth by the half.  Total domination on Newtons part.  As O stated previously, the "XFactor" was key to this vixtory. Superior atheletes on the Newton side.  Waskoms 32 game winning streak in 3A DII still the longest until Newton breaks it next season.

They were jumping because Gunter kept simulating snap count and the refs were not calling it. Don't understand that..

It will be different to break Waskoms record. I’m not saying Newton won’t and can’t win, but they will have a very strong pre-season schedule. WOS, Henderson and a talk about Carthage may be on the schedule. If Newton were to lose all three, it wouldn’t mean they weren’t good by any means. I really hope we can land those three games.

I watched the film too and I was honestly surprised at how the Gunter players acted at the end of the plays. there was some pretty blatant nonsense going on. Gunter was definitely not all they were cracked up to be.

Don't hold it against them armchair, some of them players have never experienced a loss on varsity. They weren't sure how to act. They will learn from this loss and probably be better men because of it.
