They only lost 2 to graduation, and went three deep last year only losing to CH. They went 1 game up on CH and CH came back to win 2 straight the next day. These polls mostly go on the submissions of players returning(from coaches) and finishes last year. This is the Txhighschoolbaseball.com poll. The coaches submit information to them. If you go look on this website and see that Shelbyville only shows 2 returners. So thats probably what the coach submitted and what they went off of. They have a ton back including their pitchers. Rodriguez may be the best player in the state. Throws 95 and and has great off speed stuff. May be a top 10 pick in the draft. Couldn't agree more with ya on that.. Smitherman had a whole yr to get bigger, faster, and stronger for his sr season. The young man is going to turn some heads on the Wow.... factor this yr.
