I think Coach Hyde will have them playing at a high level. I think he was a big reason for their run over the last 3 years. They have been pretty much the top defensive unit in the state. Looks like Coach Hyde has been at LV since 2006, and only left for 1 season in 2013. Came back and has steadily improved the defense. The Dawgs don’t have to be as good in 2018 as we were in 2017 to win state again. We don’t have to win by avg margin of 24 points to win state. We don’t have to go undefeated to win state. We don’t have to be ranked #1 all season to win state. We don’t have to have the top RB in TX to win state. We don’t have to have two All State LB’s to win state. We don’t have to have 2 D1 receivers to win state. We just have to make the playoffs and win 6 games in a row. Odds are we will lose 2-3 games in 2018 as our Sophmores grow up and learn how to play Surratt’s brand of football. We will make some mistakes early and will have some growing pains along the way. Last year it looked like the athletes were there and they just couldn't quite make it click but you felt like it wouldn't take much to turn em into a winning machine.
