I hear it will be announced tonight.

I can change my name back, now that we have an AD that won the job fair and square. Last one was a total set up.

Fired up! Sure hope this guy is good. I have heard nothing but good things.

In Morris County it takes a state championship to have a memory that will last longer than a DF-PP game. Full stadiums and bragging rights, it is what HS football is about. Best of luck to the new coach.

I meant what offense, what defense can we expect to see

If he's a former DC expect a defense friendly style of offense. Run heavy likely. That would be my guess.

We sure didnt get that with the last hire. We didnt even get a decent defense.

Good luck Coach Abron.

He ran a 3-4 defense in SS. I’ve heard we are going back to Slot T on offense. We’ve got some big athletic linemen and LaJathan Allen is as good of a RB we’ve had in years. Looking forward to it.

Good for Pewitt!    It wasn’t quite the same watching them the last several years.    It wasn’t the Brahma football that everyone in the area was used to seeing for sure!

I don’t know why more smaller programs don’t feature the slot T or Wishbone or flex bone etc... it’s a simple pound the ball scheme that works great when executed and you don’t have to have blazing speed.  It’s 4 yards a carry, you big play is your key sweep and your game breaker is the 4-5 play action passes a game.  This is using your offense as your defense and if you happen to get 3-4 stops a game, it should be enough to win since you can probably limit a team to less than 7 possessions.

I'm with you on this, though I would add the Pro-I. It's a very simple offense and an adequate equalizer for teams with little depth. All you need is one or two quick guards and a halfback with at least a modicum of quickness.

26+27 counter, 30 trap, 28 sweep, and 70 pass. All the plays you need. It sure beats lining up in some half-a## Spread.

I think this hire puts Pewitt right back in contention for a district title. Playing some solid defense with a ball control offense, we will be in every ballgame I’m sure.

Whole district should be a dogfight. I'd say Waskom takes it but in my opinion there's six teams that can be competitive. How do you think it will all play out?

I think Waskom is the clear #1, Daingerfield is the clear #2, and the rest could fall in any order.

Waskom has to replace a QB and 3 offensive lineman, on a positive note Waskom had a move in that should help right off the start on a negative note we lost a very good player to a concussion in the Newton game and his parents will not let him play his Senior year. Waskom will be good and has a lot of seniors. District who knows it could be a fight between three or four teams.
