Elaborate? By “politic” what do you mean? Say it. Believe me, if you say what I think you wanna say, I am ready to eat your lunch on here.

Better be legit with it, ain't no room for politics in football, ain't any room but for one thing and that's purity of the game, pure in nature, pure in form and pure in essence.. Honesty, courage and fortitude need only apply.. Chain.

From the Jacksonville Daily Progress:

Corrigan-Camden runs past Alto 39-26

ALTO — Corrigan-Camden outscored Alto 31-6 in the second and third stanzas and claimed a 39-26 victory over the Yellowjackets Friday night at Cam'Ron Matthews Field at Jacket Stadium.

The game, which took place on homecoming night for Alto, was the final non-district affair for both schools.

The Bulldogs moved to 4-1 with the win, while Alto slipped to 3-2 after opening the season with three-straight wins.

The Bulldogs unleashed a punishing ground attack that saw Corrigan-Camden pile up 418 rushing yards. Ashton Jones led his team with 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The visitors scored on seven of their eight possessions over the first three periods of the game, after turning the ball over on downs to the Mean Sting on the opening march of the evening.

Alto took what turned out to be its only lead in the game at the 5:22 mark of the opening quarter when Skylar Atkins motored into the end zone from six yards out, behind the blocking of Foster Hall and Jay Pope. Following Dalton Mabry's point after touchdown boot, the Jackets were up 7-0.

That was all the first half success the Black and Gold had in putting points on the scoreboard as the subsequent drives ended with a fumble, going three and out and with a punt.

Corrigan-Camden took a 25-7 lead at halftime and held the normally potent Alto offensive attack to just 63 total yards in the first half. At the same time the Bulldogs amassed a total of 245 yards.

The Bulldogs surged out to their biggest lead of the evening, 33-7, with 9:39 to play in the third quarter following 51-yard touchdown dash by Jaylon Hunt and Jones' two-point conversion run.

Alto didn't give up and managed to out score the Class 3A Bulldogs 19-6 the rest of the way to make the final margin more acceptable.

The Yellowjackets' last touchdown came via a 60-yard scoring strike from Harmon West to Mabry that took place with 3:14 left in the game. West passed for a total of 129 yards.

Alto will open conference play on Oct. 12 by entertaining Big Sandy at 7:30 p.m.

NOTE: Elizabeth Serrano and Owen Wood were crowned homecoming queen and king during pregame festivities.

This shocks me .  I honestly thought Alto would run away with it, especially after the Garrison/Joaquin score .

Thank the lord though . We then would be getting persecuted by yellojacket fans . Atleast now y’all are getting persecuted with us .

Just goes to show, football is about matchups on Friday night.

It’s just whomever matches up better with a certain team. Seems like you guys were better matchup wise for CC and the other way around with Garrison. Guess that’s why we play the games. I’m ready to finally start district play and see some of these matchups in the post season. We will all be in that dance.

What I mean is, you might want to look to move up a better passer and runner off of Jv to  stop being so 1 sided in play calling.

Don’t know how that’s political coaching, the kid is a freshman, and weighs a 130 pounds. 10 has gotten better at a lot of things, we just need to do what he can do more. Also the line needs to play better, and the receivers need to catch the ball better, and fight for jump balls on long passes. We are going to get 16 back, and that should help on both sides of the ball. The freshman is going to get snaps in weeks 8,9, and 10, then we will talk about who should be playing.

I HONESTLY BELIEVE IF WE WOULD HAVE SHOWED UP TO PLAY IN JOAQUIN LIKE WE DID IN ALTO , IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT STORY.. BUT YOU CANT GO BACK AND REPLAY THE GAMES , ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS LEARN FROM THEM AND LET THE LOSSES FUEL YOU TO DO BETTER.. AND I THINK THE LOSS IN JOAQUIN DID EXACTLY THAT

BEST OF LUCK TO ALTO THE REST OF THE WAY! ALTO IS VERY TOUGH WITH ALOT OF HEART!

You right! Might  need to give a little more time. JMI, I’m seeing defenses not even considering the QB a threat to make good passes by playing 1 on 1 with receivers. Defenses are blitzing more to get to RB’s and QB is not a threat to run. If a defense can send more players than a offense has blockers, it’s going to make the offensive line look weak! Did not know he was a freshman! Definitely need time for him to grow.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Always enjoyed watching us play. Good luck to you guys this year. I too was glad to see our boys get going. The boys worked hard on the off week and made a lot of progress with the offense.

That’s great!  Nothing wrong with getting them losses out of the way before district and playoffs starts, I think it actually does a team good and gets them ready..

I believe y’all will be ready when district starts! Y’all always are

I agree, that’s not really political. We are doing the right thing for what we have up right now. There are a few players on the JV that will def turn heads in the future. They’re just not ready for the bigger time yet. The JV quarterback is a pure passer and has been honed to be such. When he’s physically ready, look out. Our current varsity qb hasn’t played the position since Jr. High and that’s tough to do. He’s improved each week, which is what you wanna see. He understands what the coach wants and is as tough and gritty as they come. Very smart young man, who I believe will play some ball of some type after HS somewhere. We are in year 1 of the new regime. The growing pains can sometimes be hard to swallow for all of us because we ARE so competitive and have been raised to believe we are the best. We gotta keep that going. Whether you are #1 or #3 on the depth chart, it takes heart to know what your role is and to make the most of your opportunity when it comes. The most dangerous teams are the ones that have that all in mentality from the top to bottom. I have a son that plays. Believe me, I hear from him all the time how he wants more opportunities on the offensive side of the ball. I tell him to WORK. Do the extra! It’ll come! And he does that. It shows when the ball does come his way a couple times a game. We spent an hour running routes and catching balls yesterday because that’s what he wanted to do. But I tell him to support the team 1st. And he does. That’s what it takes to win and have a solid program from top to bottom. Kids gotta be accountable to one another and take pride in not being one to let your brother down.

You have a good QB coach in Hubbard on staff.  He will get him where he needs to be.  Just may take a while.
