I have seen Carthage running game all year and I can tell you it changed for the better once Cortney started getting significant carriers. He is a north south runner and always falls forward. His YAC are very high. Smith needed to be pushed for playing time and has responded with much better effort the last few games. I think Cortney & Smith give us a nice 1-2 punch. Are they Ingram - no. But still very capable. I believe we will see Moochie line up in the backfield more as we continue in the playoffs. The same way prognosticators have measured the Dallas Cowboys as having the best offensive line in the NFL until recently? What you’re saying is it’s just C&C’s opinion and not a proven fact. We understand that, but we shouldn’t rake C&C over the coals for having the opinion CHS has the best OL in 4A. I’ll say this much, a guy I know who teaches at Crosby and has seen Manvel many years in a row attended the Dawgs versus HH game in Lufkin last week. After seeing the Bulldogs’ OL and watching the game he asked what in the world are we feeding those boys in Carthage. Needless to say he was extremely impressed with our OL and team. Dawgs fumble a snap, MH just goes right down the field and scores. MH kicks off, the Dawgs run the ball out of the end zone and get tackled on the seven.
