LionTed93
I really don’t see anyone beating PG this year least not this early. PG by two touchdowns

HearEmaGrowlin
Seems Carthage’s defense is vastly improved. If Horton has enough time in the pocket Carthage will win. If PG is able to get to Horton routinely this will be a nail bitter. PG still has to deal with Carthage’s rushing attack too. Everyone knows PG’s offense and what it does. I think Carthage defends it much better this year than they did last year.

If we defend it better it’s going to be a tough night for PG.

Champ1000
Going to be difficult for Carthage. They tend to struggle after a bye. I am taking the Hawks by 14 or less.

I think that is crazy talk. PG has gotten a lot of love for a few good years of production on the field (myself included!), but dismissing the Bulldogs with predictions of PG winning by 14 points seems far fetched. Carthage still has Surratt and Preston.
Hawknation03
Ok PG CARTHAGE WEEK IS HERE!! Carthage will come into The Grove 4-0 and leave 4-1. I keep hearing how improved the Dogs are from last year. That they may be, but I know PG is not just improved they are greatly improved from their runner up team last year. This Hawk team can flat out play some ball. Horton will have to give his best performance to beat this stingy Hawk D. Hawks already avenged 1 game from last year by crushing the Bears. Time to check them Dawgs off of the list. GO HAWKS!
Unbiased1
Texarkana, TX is the place to be on Friday. This game should be a slug fest from start to finish. Both teams are loaded with talent and well coached. You have to love what Gibson has done, but Surratt is a legend. If the defensive line for PG does what it should, and puts pressure on the QB, they get the advantage. That front is top notch at any level of high school football. BUT, I read PG had a big player that plays both sides of the ball on crutches last night. They cannot afford any injuries if they are to pull off the win at home. Who schedules Carthage for homecoming!?

Carthage's O-line is going to have to hold it down. This will without a doubt be the best D-line Carthage has faced this season. I picked Carthage to win, but I'm telling you, PG is head and shoulders better than they were last season. I am honestly not even sure what their offense is capable of this season. They haven't really been tested since week 1.
H3llR4z0r
That being said, PG hasn't faced a team with a passing game like Carthage either. Not even close, tbh. Carthage will either have to get that running game going early, or the offensive line is going to have to play lights out.
cowboyandchrist
Should be a great game between two teams loaded with talent. Anybody picking this game by 14 points or more just seems crazy to me. Dawgs in my opinion have the best O line in 4A, going up against maybe the best D line in 4A. Dawg D line in my opinion is better than PG's O line. Running backs are even. Wide receivers not close, the Dawgs have major talent receiving the football. QB has to go to PG, three year starter and played in two state championship games. Linebackers and secondary, Dawgs If the Dawgs can force a couple of three and outs or a turnover and get a lead of 7 to 10 points. I believe the Dawg D can keep PG from catching up. If PG can go on long scoring drives eating up time, keep their defense rested, and get a turnover. Their chances go way up. Going to be a slobber knocker between two giants. Dawgs by 3 Lets Go Dawgs!!!!!!! God Bless coaches, players, and fans. I pray for no injuries and safe travels.
CDAWG68
If Carthage plays their game and executes, we win the game. If we start off slow and can't find a rythm, then Pleasant Grove wins. It will be fun to watch the chess match unfold, it will definitely be the toughest defense we have faced yet. See you at the show next Friday. Go Dawgs!!

I know it will be a contest but if the Dawgs can pick off some passes or get some fumbles it will be a sad night in Hawk Land.
Hawknation03
Gonna see what both of these Beast Texas teams are about. Early word this morning is PG is a little banged up from CH game. Hope there are no serious injuries. I really want to see both of these teams go head to head at 100%.

Hawknation03
Carthage fans, be advised there is very little visitor seating at PG. There is a lot of standing room along the rail of the field. PG staff has been allowing portable compact style chairs for the visitors also. As soon as I know what time gates will open I will post. PG also has a rather small parking lot. You can park across from the high school using the Texas M school parking lot. There will also be parking at the old indoor batting cages directly across from the school. Tickets are going on Pre sale Thursday From 8AM to 1PM at the athletic center behind the school. Will make the line at the gate move much faster if we can get tickets pre purchased.
