The Mavs clinched their third consecutive district championship and their fourth in five seasons with a resounding 35-8 win over Whitehouse on the road last night.

It was Marshall's 24th district win in a row dating back to 2016.

Now they turn to the Pine Tree Pirates.

I'll get all the historical and statistical notes posted sometime today I hope.  I'min the process of moving into a new house...so it's chaotic right now!

GO MAVS GO!

It is a good thing Marshal isn’t 4a D1.  If so how many district titles would they have?

Well we aren’t 4A....so why doesn’t it bother you/matter?

We play the games placed in front of us.  Win as many of them as we can.

Marshall and Pinetree both have a good offense but Marshall’s defense is the difference maker. Also things against Pinetree are Marshall’s senior night and home field advantage. Marshal should not take Pinetree lightly they would like nothing better than to knock Marshall off their winning district games streak. As usual

GO MAVS

Being Sr night may make a difference in how many points we score. We will probably want to get a comfortable lead and let all sr's play in the 4th. If pine tree scores alot(as they can)  then we score 50-60 to help build that cushion.

Senior night Vs. Pine Tree this week.... a big one no doubt.

Mavs looking to win their 25th consecutive district game.

And unless some screwy things happen in district 10 next week.... Marshall SHOULD have a rematch of last year's first playoff game with Lamar Consolidated.

While I’m happy that we’ve got the district championship in hand already.....  I honestly had hoped since the summer that this game would be a huge showdown for the title.

Reminiscent of old 12-5A days. Season finale... district title on the line.  Packed house. Intense close game.

I know PT is playoff bound again, and that’s always big news for them, but I’ll be shocked to see them bring the house like they would have had this been for a district championship.

Let’s go take care of business and win this game and head into the playoffs with some confidence!
