They just like cowboys fans, they don’t hold Jerry accountable for not getting the team better, and JT fans don’t hold Holmes accountable to for not having championship by now with all the talent he wasted. They don’t see that.... they just say support like idiots. That’s why we ain’t going to no championship and don’t get respect, cause we support mediocrity. It’s just the real, I love JT I graduated from there but I don’t support stupidity just because that’s my team. Smh.

He had teams that should won state last years team and for sure 2012 greg ward and ross senior year team was probaly his best team he has coached

Wasted man smh.... and they want people to support.. smh lol

I feel like he’s a good coach. I don’t think you can give all the credit to the kids for the reason they’ve won big games in the past. Definitely not calling him great. Just don’t believe he’s as bad as some are saying. But I’m on the outside. So...🤷🏽‍♂️

You give king 2012 and 2014, heck even last year team he would’ve won at least 1 or 2 chips.

King had way more talent than JT most of the last 10 years and just recently got his title.

Winning a state championship is hard. It takes talent, coaching, a perfect storm of many events and YES some luck!

You guys make it sound like winning state is like the snap of a finger.

I can’t honestly say that JT has been poorly coached. i don’t know. I haven’t seen them play often enough to draw that conclusion.  It may very well be true.

But as an outsider looking in...  it seems there is a disparity in the actual talent in the cupboard and the talent the fan base believes they have.

You do know some lobo fans had a website asking for King to be fired i think after that 2016 season right? We don’t know what King would do with a JT team and I actually like him as a HC

There are several teams with deeper rosters, but top end talent over the past 10 yrs (subtracting this yr)....I will put JT up with most teams (based on head to head wins, Div.1 signees, NFL players)

I'm sure there are several coaches better,  and maybe Coach Holmes has done a few things we disagree with,  but I'm not going to act like he has been a terrible coach.  He has went to the semi finals twice and a quarterfinals in 7 yrs with several district championships.  That is pretty good.

This was always going to be a rebuilding yr.  Many of us thought with this district, JT could get by with a 1st or 2nd place finish.   I still think the future is bright with the upcoming talent over the next 4-5 yrs. I'm not going to say state, but I think they can get back to being very respectable.

John Tyler has put the same level of talent as Longview in the last ten years. If not more. The talent pool at JT has been loaded since 2009 with some of the best in East Texas if no the state, did you forget JT has been to3 quarterfinals, and 3 semifinals, and a regional semi final, and has won 8 district titles since 2009? So I’m not sure about that one. Especially the 2009, 2010, and 2012, 2014,2016 teams. Heck the 2012 team had 15 people sign to play college ball. Some of the players are playing in the nfl right now or have played at some point or currently playing D1 college ball. Not saying JT would’ve won but they dang sure would’ve made it in 5A

John Tyler has clinched a playoff spot. Sherman would clinch a playoff spot with a win and a West Mesquite win or a win by at least 11 points and a Texas High victory.

John Tyler would be ahead of West Mesquite or Texas High on points if either school was involved in the three-way tie with Sherman and John Tyler. Tyler is playing to avoid the fourth seed.

If Sherman was to beat John Tyler by 11 points or more and Texas High beats West Mesquite, John Tyler would be out.

Texas High would be out.

The worst John Tyler can do in a three-way tie with Sherman and Texas High is -1. They won by 16 and could lose by as many as 17.

Texas High is at -3. They beat Sherman by 13 and lost to John Tyler by 16.

Right now Sherman is -13. That is why Sherman has to win by at least 11. They would go to -2 and be ahead of Texas High for the fourth seed. If they win by 13 or more, John Tyler is the four and Sherman is the three.

Them same folks are kissing his feet now lol

Bunch of damn idiots tbh. If they actually payed close attention to anything, they'd know that 2016 team was never going to do anything spectacular. That was the worst SR class Longview had since the early 2000s. They lacked so much...and I called them the 'calm before the storm' before the season started because I was aware of all the talent coming up behind that team.

And its still coming. If we stay healthy, I really do like our chances again the next few years, especially with the drop down in class.

It seems that's what this year's JT team is. This is probably the worst JT team since 2007, this team is even worse than 2017 team that didnt make the playoffs. But the talent coming the next few years will make it feel like the good ole years. Its gonna be tough to do anything with longview dropping but atleast we will be fully relevant again potentially.

It wasn't one fan. It was a former player that lived in freakin South Carolina.
