I really didn't think people considered Texarkana to be in East Texas since none of the ET papers or media covers them. Don't see them in Longview or Tyler papers and not on any ET news station. I thought they were North and not East. But that was just me. Yes, PP is in East Texas.

Guess I'll be rooting for 1 more ET team to win tomorrow. And it's PG. So maybe they can bring one back to East Texas or North Texas, whichever you prefer to call them.

Well, if you're ever in doubt, Crankshaft posted a map of the regions in Texas.

Because they are their own "major" city. Tyler doesnt typically cover Longview sports and vice versa, with a few exceptions.  I doubt Tyler and Longview cover a lot of Nacogdoches and Lufkin, but they are still in East Texas.

PG is not really East Texas though (at least they're never in the Longview or Tyler papers).

It's more North Texas. Will absolutely not be rooting for that other ET team, the one that wears red.

Texarkana on a whole diffetent media loop than the Tyler/Longview areas, both newspapers and radio coverage.  Anything north of Jefferson not covered by KMHT outta Marshall.

To me, the east Texas line should run all the way from the Red River to the Gulf. Now just exactly where that line should be is a matter of opinion if you ask people from West Texas, to them it is anything east of Dallas.

Congratulations to Gunter. They just had more hosses.

Gunter was better than I thought. They held up to those big guys. I was really surprised. Only East Texas team that has whipped them is Waskom. I don’t keep up with Gunter much but there offense looks like a hybrid of Waskom offense. If you can’t beat em join them.

I simply said they weren't covered by East Texas' 2 papers (Tyler and Longview). Plus, they're in far North Texas. I guess you could call it East, but it's more northern than eastern and they're not covered in East Texas' newspapers.

I guess all the newspapers in Marshall, Texarkana, Carthage, Lufkin and Nacogdoghes must have shut down. Or are those towns not in East Texas either?

Gunter 24 - PP 17

I'm not surprised Gunter won. I am surprised they were able to take PP behind the woodshed.  If not for the 2 interceptions, Gunter probably wins by 40. 130 yards rushing for PP.  I believe that is about 300 less than PP's average.  That is crazy impressive!!  Quick, tough defense flying to the ball every second of the game and better blocking at all levels was the difference in my opinion.
