Easy...Coach Metzel -Gilmer- (already on staff and knows the Gilmer way)

2nd Choice: Coach Lane -Pinetree- (has headcoaching experience and knows the Gilmer way)

3rd Choice: Coach Nally -Melissa- (East Texas boy thats has head coaching experience and offensive guru that would fit Gilmer perfectly)

I would love to have Matt Nally, but that would be more of a lateral move for him, don't you think.

Maybe a Lateral move based on classification.   Nally is not the AD at Melissa, so it would be a jump in pay and title if he were to get the Gilmer job!

Tom Landy is right. Lane is clear choice here.  Pine Tree was once an easy win on everyone’s schedule and Coach Lane has really change the culture at PT.  No one in that district looks forward to playing the pirates now.  They have brought back smash mouth football.  If the Buckeyes want to return to the glory days- then Lane better be their guy.  If not, be ready for more high expectations but poor outcomes.

IMO they will not return to glory days if they stay in the circle.

5A football in ET is weak to say the least.
