I don't what he is looking at. Lobos are top big school program in East Texas and have had a good seasons throughout their history, but they didn't become top dog in East TX and a consistent state power house until probably the mid to late 2000s.(although the 70s were very good yrs)

Kinda around the same time Carthage started winning state titles.

I agree. When King took over, they blew up. Their were no big schools in East Texas dominating the landscape year in and year out like Longview has done since 2004. Different teams had their runs but not 15 plus years of being consistently good.

Definitely weren't dominating like we are now, but we've been apart of the East Texas landscape for the better part of our entire existence. Even during our 20 year stretch of not making the post season, we still had two co-district titles.

But you're right. King has changed the dominance and the program has a whole has stepped up like crazy since 2004.

King is our best coach for a reason. Thankful we have him.

Going with Longview in a close one (cause even though I think HP is the better team), McKinney North remains undefeated and West Mesquite grabs their first win.

West Mesquite struggles against Tyler continues...

Highland Park put themselves in the driver seat for district with close win over Longview...and also the #1 seed...

McKinney North now on 3 game winning streak...

I expect HP, LV and Tyler to win next week.

East will be playing for their playoff lives next week. Another loss and they are most likely eliminated from the playoffs.

So does it go down as a loss.

Not a loss or win. A no contest.

Coach King explains it when you click the article.

"The game, per District 7-5A, DI rules, will be ruled a no contest. Standings-wise, the missed game will come down to head-to-head records against common opponents and then, if that is tied, points with a max of 15, King said."
