Well "those" you spoke with really weren't paying very close attention then. While it wasn't a large score disparity it wasn't really that close of a call especially statistically.  Marshall

Someone from Whitehouse complaining about class and sportsmanship... That's irony. Sports or not.

Why be a douche about it?  Nac doesn’t pick their district.  They compete where they are put... and they dominate.  just say congrats and move on.  Don’t see the point in trying to lessen thei

Lufkin got sandblasted 13-5 in the 1st game against Texas High in Lufkin.  Lufkin used 4 pitchers, giving up 13 runs on 16 hits and about 8 walks.

If there is any good news, Lufkin did not pitch any of their best three pitchers in Luna, DeJesus or Ditsworth tonight. Texas High is a great hitting team and knows how to play small ball to manufacture runs.  Lufkin scored all 5 runs in the 4th inning and had 6 hits on the night.  Lufkin is in a deep hole.

Pretty shocked by this.  Of course, one game doesn’t make a series... but now LP has to win two on the road. A little tougher but def not impossible.

Hallsville will be a heavy favorite Vs Huntsville... BUT.... the Bobcats stumbled at the end of the regular season losing to both Marshall and Sulphur Springs.

WH will be heavy favorites over Marshall.  Mav offense is spotty at times.  Pitching can be inconsistent.  When they are both clicking, they can play with anyone.  But they rarely seems to come together in a single game. Wildcats appear to be the class of ETX.

Long/Nac is appeared to be the most intriguing series to me (until last nights upset of LP).

Could be a fun weekend of baseball.

Hallsville lost to Longview as well the other night.

Bobcats have taken a massive downturn out of no where.

Yep. Dekalon Taylor, who will be a key piece to Longview's offense this fall, ran a season best 10.49 in the 100m too but that was good for 5th place. Winner ran a 10.23.

Taylor was apart of the 4x1 (with Jalen Hale) and 4x2 as well.

Wow. Didn't this Lufkin team have members that were on that little league world series team a few years back?

They had three, the rest were on the JV team.  The Lufkin JV was 24-4 and Lufkin Sophomores 23-1-1.  All three on varsity this year will be back next season.    Texas High did what they had to do to win and Lufkin did not. A big WOW to lots of folks. Hats off to Texas High.

Random thoughts Baseball:

15-5A is (12-2) Vs. 16-5A in the softball and baseball bi-district playoffs this year.

Texas High's upset of Lufkin has got to be one of the biggest surprises in 5A.....can Marshall do the same???

Nac's domination of Longview is pretty surprising.  Pitching has been a strength for the Lobos.  But Nac has baseball pedigree.

Huge games in Marshall and Nac tomorrow Vs. Whitehouse and Longview respectively.

-----

Random thoughts softball:

Sulphur Springs Ladycats is headed to the third round.... nothing new for them.

Forney pushing Huntsville to the brink.

Hallsville completely dominated a very good Red Oak team.  They are looking to close out the series tomorrow.

MP in a hole to RC

I didn't realize it.... but Nac's win over Longview was a no hitter.

That's impressive.
