Would make things much better overall lmao

You wouldn't get to play gunter if that were the case. Region 3 has 8 or 9 high quality teams compared to 2 or 3 in the other regions.  By the time you get out of region 3 you are beat up and limping into the semi's.

Region 3 has Pewitt, DF, Waskom, EF, Newton.
Region 1 has Canadian, Spearman, Abernathy, Childress, Idalou.

Region 2 has GT, Holliday.

region 3 might be a little bit tougher than 2, but not much. GT would have come out of Region 3 three of the last 5 years.

Gunter, and Canadian are the only 2 teams that could make it out of region 3. The other teams you mentioned could/would not.

Childress, Abernathy could. Maybe not this year for Abernathy, but in a normal year they would be in the mix.

childress is a solid top 10 team this year. Their losses came to us, and another team in the top 5. I guarantee they wouldn’t give up 41 to EF.

not trying to be a ####, but there is good quality football played west of I35. Also, just because you are in Region 3 doesn’t mean you are a great team. Arguably, the two strongest districts were in Reg 1 and Reg 4 this year.

Region 3 and region 4 aren’t strong this year at all.

And why is that? Is it because Newton and East Bernard didn't come out of them? I watched some region 2 games live in person this season and overall region 4 was better then region 2. Gunter was the only team that stood out. Just being honest but region 1 and 2 are way down imo

According to Pigskin Canadian and Gunter would be ranked #1 and #2 in region 3 and region 4.  This does not guarantee anything, but it does not appear region 1 and 2 are weak at the top.

Waskom and EF was not even in the top 20 to start the year and both finally broke into the top 10 but not higher than 8th. PP and DF both started out at 3&4. Gunter and Canadian have been switching 1 & 2 all year.

I don't even remember what it was like before the now annual Gunter vs Canadian state semi-final matchup.  Should be another good one.

Gunter is averaging 49.6 per game to defenses that give up 25.9 per game (23.7 more) and holding teams that average 33.4 per game to just 9.8 per game (23.6 fewer).  Overall swing of +47.3 for Gunter.

Canadian is scoring 64.9 per game to teams giving up 29.3 on average (35.5 more) and allowing 8.9 per game to teams averaging 35.0 per game (26.2 fewer) for an overall swing of +61.7.

Considering all games played since district, the prediction that comes out is Canadian in a 43-28 game.  Considering the average of each team's best three games, I get Canadian in a 40-34 win.  The average of each team's three worst games, Canadian 42-23.  Gunter's worst three games vs Canadian's best three, Canadian in a 47-13 win.  Canadian's worst vs Gunter's best - Gunter in a 44-36 win.

In the playoffs, Gunter's swing is +59.2 and Canadian's is +66.0.  Considering only playoff games, the prediction is Canadian in a close 38-35 game.

Since district started, Canadian is beating teams by an average of 56.0 while Gunter is beating teams by 39.8 on average.  Without common opponents or even anything close to it, it's hard to tell who is better - especially when both teams are blowing out everyone because the entire slate of competition could be different or how teams play when they go up (when do backups come in, etc.)

Canadian average score after each quarter :

After 1 : 24-3

After 2 : 47-4

After 3 : 59-8

Final : 63-9

Gunter :

After 1 : 21-2

After 2 : 37-2

After 3 : 47-4

Final : 50-10

In the playoffs :

Canadian :

After 1 : 17-3

After 2 : 41-5

After 3 : 51-12

Final : 55-12

Gunter :

After 1 : 27-2

After 2 : 48-3

After 3 : 54-7

Final : 57-13
