HP has 1 loss at home since since 1998, which was Lone Star in 2019.

They lost to Pulaski Academy in 2015, ending an 84-game home winning streak.

Lone Star in 2019 was their 2nd loss under Randy Allen.

They haven't lost a district home game though since 1998.

I was thinking that LS loss was district for some reason but you're right.

Forgot all about the Pulaski Academy loss.

So two losses at home since Clinton was in office...still insane.

That district streak is long but I do wonder how many teams in HPs district in that time frame were of Longview's caliber.

Literally none of them, I can almost guarantee that.

I think a lot of there win streak is from playing terrible opponents I mean when you get to a mostly all DISD teams especially the last couple years it’s easy to boost that win streak as long as they have. So I wouldn’t buy into that much

I mean regardless, going 23 years without a home district loss is unreal. Going 10 years without one is unreal.

No matter who you're playing.

But just looking at Maxpreps...this is who they've played at home since 04 (Who knows how accurate this is but closest thing we have to something that's out there)...

2004 - Wylie (W 35-34)
2004 - Forney (W 42-7)
2005 - West Mesquite (W 42-14)
2005 - Terrell (W 59-16)
2005 - Mesquite Poteet (W 55-7)
2006 - Terrell (W 49-6)
2006 - Rockwall Heath (W 69-0)
2006 - Greenville (W 48-26)
2007 - Mesquite Poteet (W 42-21)
2007 - Richardson Pearce (W 45-20)
2007 - Forney (W 42-7)
2007 - West Mesquite (W 38-20)

2009 - Carrollton Newman Smith (W 56-35)
2009 - Richardson Pearce (W 51-44)

2009 - Rockwall Heath (W 45-10)
2010 - Rockwall (W 37-30)
2010 - Wylie (W 24-21)
2010 - Richardson Pearce (W 35-28)
2010 - Rockwall Heath (W 49-21)

2013 - Carrollton Creekview (W 49-24)
2014 - Richardson Pearce (W 56-0)

2017 - North Forney (W 63-42)
2017 - West Mesquite (W 38-17)
2017 - Forney (W 35-13)
2017 - Wylie East (W 42-7)
2018 - Dallas Woodrow Wilson (W 56-14)
2018 - Dallas Samuell (W 49-0)
2018 - Lancaster (W 39-14)
2019 - Dallas Bryan Adams (W 62-0)
2019 - Mansfield Legacy (W 76-6)
2019 - Dallas Sunset (W 79-0)

2020 - Sherman (W 41-21)

Lancaster is probably the best school out of all of those, and they were 7-4 that year they went into Highlander.

I mean if we were still in a district with Jacksonville, lindale, hallsville and those other schools for last 20 plus seasons I think our district win streak would be that long too, but nobody would buy it because we aren’t highland park.

True. But then again, this past season's almost lost to Wylie East and West Mesquite....soo...

Wylie east and west IMO are better teams than those others I pointed out. If they were in the same district east and west Mesquite would be the top two teams.

I told you they had a big freshman class. Probably the largest one Coach Holmes has had at Tyler High. I would think there will be two freshman teams this yr.

I was getting concerned about the numbers so if this trend holds up I will glad to take back some of the things I said about kids coming out for the program.

70+?

There is no maybe about it, I don't recall a year that I've seen that many 9th graders on the sidelines for Tyler High.

I wonder if that's strictly program growth or if its an enrollment growth.

the team with Cadillac and Street had a big freshman class, but not quite this large.

I think he was able to get most of the Boulter and Moore kids to come out.  Honestly between the two schools it should always be at least 55-60 kids

Coach Holmes said Derrick Mcfall will be the starting qb when the season starts. Damn. I wasn't expecting that.

you sure. From what I read, he stated that both will play and McFall will be moved around at several positions.

He said McFall will start as qb. Then he said McFall can also play other positions.

Wow.

Seemed like Holt was having a good spring/summer.

Just when I thought Holmes wouldn’t try to run another QB off. I wouldn’t be surprised if he transferred. What is he thinking this is not gonna cut it to beat any of the preseason teams.

I'm thinking Holt still starts when all is said and done.
