ANTI
West Mesquite JR QB Craig Dale has 841 passing yards and 11 TDs through the air coming into district play. That's 2nd most in the district behind Tyler's Eli Holt. He'll be facing the #1 defense coming into district play tonight, Longview. Longview's secondary, made almost exclusively of sophomores, are only giving up a little over 100 yards per game...which leads the district. They held Denton Ryan to 84 yards through the air Week 1. Kickoff at 7 PM tonight from Mesquite's Memorial Stadium. Game can be streamed via LongviewGameday on Youtube.

ANTI
Tyler has gained some traction in recent weeks with Eli Holt at the helm. Holt has allowed the skill positions to thrive because of his arm. If you're looking for proof, look no further than JR WR Montrell Wade who has put up big numbers so far this year. But if Tyler High has had a kryptonite, it's been Mckinney North. Tyler is 1-2 against McKinney North the past 3 seasons, and that one win was by 3 points in 2018. But there are 3 main differences this time around: QB is stronger for Tyler High now, they'll play McKinney North at home for the first time since 2018 and Tyler High will finally have the best WR, or perhaps player in general, on the field now that JJ Henry is gone for North. McKinney North has had success on the ground this year despite their record. North SR RB Jadan Smith has 421 on the ground at 7 YPC. He was the district leading rusher coming into this week, but now he faces a Tyler defense that boasts LB Jacob Villela, who has 50 tackles on the year. Can Tyler High get over the hump vs a struggling McKinney North squad? Mckinney North, Tyler High. Tonight at Stadium. Kickoff at 7:30 PM. Stream via NFHS. ANTI
The other big game tonight is Wylie East vs Sherman. BIG. Sherman has owned this series the past three years. The Bearcats are 3-0 vs Wylie East in that time frame, average margin of victory was 30 points. But this year, it is a total mystery of how this will turn out. Sherman has not shown any consistency at all throughout the first few weeks and Wylie East may be at an advantage talent wise. Both of these teams beat Mt. Pleasant by a combined 6 points, but it took a Hail Mary for Sherman to beat them. Both of these teams also have dynamic playmakers at the QB position. Can Wylie East finally get a win over Sherman? Find out tonight at 7:30 PM. https://www.wylieisd.net/livebroadcasts

Same it’s hard to beat a team when in 2019 Holmes literally screwed his own team for personal problems by not starting the starting QB until 2:00 mins in the 4th to try and save the game. Then 2019 you had virtually no QB at all. Sad fact that tyler had REAL chance to win both games lol. Now tyler actually has a QB, that’s gonna be a PROBLEM for north. They got a break the last two years but not this time around.
