Hiring Coaches Question

I say you hire the AD and let him staff his program. Granted, a big part of your evaluation of him is his ability to staff his department. But I think it's a bad idea for school admins or board members to tell ADs who to hire/fire. 

Of course, I'm saying all this as a department head myself.    ;)

Not an AD, but I am a director. I hire and fire my own people...  and am held accountable for their work.

If we do well, it makes me look good. If they screw up, it puts my job in jeopardy.

I thought exactly the same as you but if they want to call it a committee we have been doing that for years. lol
