The NCAA really dropped the ball (shocker) in putting some basic guidelines out to follow. It’s just like the Wild West right now.

The Miami one really got me. If they are worth $6k, I can’t wait to see what Bama, Clemson and Ohio State are. I’m not shocked at Nike and Oregon. We knew that was coming. It is what we thought it would be. Kids are getting bought.

That's gotta be booster money. There's no way he's making that off of endorsements... right?

Oh it’s gotta be boosters. Everybody’s boosters just need to start a NIL and buy the best team available,

Crazy you could potentially earn more in college than as a pro. Take Johnny manziel for example his pro career didn’t turn out but he was on the top of his game in college. Plenty of backups and bust go to league every year after being awesome.

JFF came from money, but he would've made a killing if NIL existed when he was at A&M.

If Aggie jerseys with #2 on them are any indication he should be making a killing today too.

How do they deem who gets the money for the number if there’s no name on the jersey.  12 for Texas could be Colt McCoy, Earl Thomas or even Danny Akers!!!  When you purchase the jersey will you have to fill out some form with the person that number is in your eyes?  This is going to be a nightmare to patrol.

in a few years some svhools will give NIL contracts of $100K with the stipulation of staying 4 years.  Signing bonuses will be available NSD

Watch a kid who’s thinking of going pro get a nice little NIL bump to make him reconsider going pro for one more year. $8,400 a week being a practice squad guy or $150,000 in NIL to stay one more year.

Jaydon Blue skipped to keep his legs healthy. Ewers to get coin. What will high school football look like now that it’s become a financial decision?

All trolling and baiting aside, I don't really see this as terribly relevant to 99.9 percent of student athletes.

It's one thing if elite national superstars like Quinn Ewers or (closer to home) Jalen Hale decide to graduate early and start their collegiate career. Especially if they've already committed to a program and have met all academic criteria to receive their diploma. Obviously it's not entirely applicable to Hale either, at least not *this* year. Maybe next year...

Ewers has decided on Ohio State. He's locked in. He no longer wants to be a Dragon, and wants to focus 100 percent on becoming a Buckeye. He's on pace to graduate at the semester mark. Thus, he's can enroll at Ohio State as soon as January, and start training as a college athlete.

Again, that's an extreme minority of athletes at the top .01 percent of the class.

It’s time to kill the ncaa and form an organization that has foresight to see the changes that need to be made

I’ve been saying this for years.  A league for 18-24 yr olds.  And the NFL should form it and pay for it.  They won’t, but they should

That’s what college football basically is.  It just needs some better guidance.   Just like the NIL rules.  It’s gonna be a free for all as there’s little understanding of how it’s to work.  There should’ve been a set of guidelines on what is and isn’t allowed beforehand.  No foresight, just pass the rule and have at it

Just imagine, toward the end of the 2028 college football season ... #1 Alabama and #10 Boise State are the last two standing after a 16 team playoff .... Alabama's star QB and trio of wide receivers, along with their Heisman Trophy toting running back all decide to sit out the big game afraid they might get injured and it cost them millions in endorsement money, signing bonuses and lucrative pro contracts .... meanwhile Boise State routs a depleted Alabama squad 52 - 14 to claim the national championship  ....

Money talks, but I don't think we expected it to dip down into the high school ranks so quickly. Why would he go through the grind at SC this year when he can train with the pros while living the life of a VIP? The irony one has to consider is will he have the same mentality in college - "Me over Team."
