We both know this not gonna be close but hey I understand wanting your team to be better.

I bet it will be closer than when y’all last played Carthage. But I can understand you wanting your team to be better.

Can y’all just make it to state please!!!! Unfortunately Carthage not gonna be able to help y’all win. I thought for it to be a rivalry both teams has to win at some point this is just getting ridiculous.

Yea you haven’t been to our stadium in a while because parking is not a issue anymore. Also y’all don’t travel well in gladewater so playing in a bigger stadium is pointless.

Wrong, I've been there since y'all updated but being on a Thursday and all the fans from not only Gilmer & Gladewater but other places that will come the parking is still not adequate. Y'all don't even come close to our stadium parking. Maybe y'all could shuttle people from the fair grounds and LaFinca.

I never said Bear fans travel well although we do travel better when we play Gilmer. Man, we don't even travel well to our own stadium,  but you can't talk. I was surprised last year at the Gilmer turnout at Bear Stadium. If you can't even fill up our visitor's side, that's sad. I'll give you that Covid played a roll in that. Might be an issue this year also. I was just fortunate that I caught Covid last year from a Mt. Vernon fan at our last game. Lol, I didn't have to miss any other games.

You must be a baby. There was a time the Buckeyes couldn't beat the Bears. Fortunately for y'all Traylor came along. It was like the flip of a light switch.

Not a baby but it’s like two decades so I’ll say it’s not that good.

How would u see our parking if u went to all the gladewater games? Our parking is 1000 percent better than what it use to be especially for the visitors.

I agree it's better but still not adequate for ALL THE FANS THAT ARE COMING. I'll say it again,  "I'm not just talking about Gilmer and Gladewater fans.

Guess you've only been a fan since the Traylor era. Unfortunately for y'all the rivalry goes further back than that. You might brush up on your history if you want to be a "real" Buckeye fan.

I've been to a few Gilmer games that were played on different nights than the Bears and if I'm not mistaken we played a playoff game there against someone else, but I can't remember who it was.

Don’t let him rile you up 😂 he’s always that guy 😂. They have a great team this year so he will be allowed to talk until they play Carthage again. I’m sure Gilmer hated the day that Carthage moved down to D2. The tide may never turn in the series with Gilmer as big of a difference as there is in enrollment but we still enjoy playing them and the games are always competitive.

And yet the overall series is still very competitive so that must mean that before 91 Gladewater owned Gilmer.   I grew up in Gilmer so I remember the days when Gilmer couldn’t have beaten Union Hill 😂

I mean dang if u go back far enough I can find when anyone wasn’t any good. But y’all and your kids kids can all talk about how they never beat the buckeyes so at least y’all have that in common lol.

96-2001 are y’all last wins against us just saying. So if that’s not lopsided then I don’t know what is so you can stop using the Traylor era now.

How about between 1929-1991?

I could tell you because I hit right here in front of me, but my mom always told me I'd remember it better if I looked it up myself.

I'll give that since 1991thhe Buckeyes lead the series 25-2. Gilmer + 23

Overall Gilmer leads 37-25. +12

Looks to me like it took y'all winning the last 11 straight to catch up although 4 of those weren't easy for y'all.

Good for y'all.

When you have a player like DJ Allen on your team, it makes things a lot easier! With that being said, I’m not so sure the QB will have much time to get the ball out with Gilmer returning their entire DLine and adding a new LB. He will have to make quick decisions and be very mobile if Gladewater is to keep this close. I would expect y’all to run more this year, so should be a good matchup.

It’s definitely not the best case scenario to break in a new Qb. He will be thrown to the fire and is only a sophomore. I’m not sure if we will run more. The strength of this team will be some really talented WRs. It doesn’t end with Allen. We will need to be able to run it some to keep Gilmer from just pinning their ears back and coming after the Qb. Good news is this is game 1 and won’t determine either teams success this season.

Oh, I wanted to let you know that of the 8 times the Bears have shutout your Buckeyes, 3 of them came when I was in high school. Would have been 4 years but we didn't play y'all my senior year.

He's a big QB. I can't see coaches calling his # to run but he's tall enough to see the field. I think we will run the ball but maybe not in the formations people are used to seeing.

I wish this game was 3rd or 4th on the schedule so the kids could gell a little but as Coach Callaway used to say, "It is what it is". It will be a good test. Probably will be the best offense and defense we play all year.

Did you forget that y’all play White Oak this year? 👀
