Lady Lobos roll over Sulphur Springs tonight, 5-0. Stay perfect in 15-5A at 7-0-0.

Lobos had a much more challenging task in Sulphur Springs. Wildcats pretty much controlled the entire game (outside of the first 8 or 9 minutes), and held a 2-0 lead with just 22 minutes left.

Longview had a ton of corners but finally cashed in and from there on dominated completely to win 4-2 over the Cats.

Huge win for the Lobos in the district race to keep pace with Mount Pleasant. Haven't seen a score for the Tigers yet, but would assume they were able to beat Pine Tree but we'll see.

Win for Longview was their 11th in a row over the Wildcats and improved the Lobos 26-1-5 against Sulphur Springs all-time.

Whitehouse W 3-0 vs Jacksonville
Lufkin W 1-0 vs Huntsville
Tyler W 2-1 vs Nacogdoches

Notes:
15-5A: Still missing Mount Pleasant vs Pine Tree scoreline. Regardless, Longview will take at least a 1 pt lead into Friday's showdown at Hallsville. Marshall picked up their first regulation district win of the season. Lobos haven't clinched a playoff berth yet, but with at the very least an 11 pt lead over 5th place Pine Tree, it'll be very difficult for Longview to miss.

16-5A: Tyler got a massive win over Nacogdoches tonight. The win along with Nac being the opponent they defeated, has the Lions now in the 4th and final spot while Nac is on the outside looking in. Whitehouse took over sole possession of first place with a dominating 3-0 win over the Indians. The top 5 are going to be fighting tooth and nail it feels like until the final week. Huntsville is all but eliminated.

GIRLS
15-5A
Longview (15-2-1, 7-0-0) - 21 pts
Hallsville (14-1-0, 5-1-0) - 15 pts
Pine Tree (9-5-1, 4-3-0) - 12 pts
Mount Pleasant (11-5-0, 4-3-0) - 12 pts
Texas High (7-5-1, 2-4-0) - 6 pts
Sulphur Springs (4-11-2, 1-6-0) - 3 pts
Marshall (2-11-0, 0-6-0) - 0 pts

Longview W 5-0 vs Sulphur Springs
Mount Pleasant W 2-0 vs Pine Tree

Nacogdoches (7-9-2, 3-4-0) - 9 pts
Tyler (4-12-0, 1-5-0) - 3 pts
Huntsville (4-11-1, 0-560) - 0 pts

** Still missing shootout winner of Lufkin/Whitehouse from 1st round **

Jacksonville W 1-0 vs Whitehouse
Lufkin W 2-0 vs Huntsville
Nacogdoches W 2-0 vs Tyler

Notes:
15-5A: Longview pushed their cushion out to a 6 point lead with Hallsville having a bye night. The Lady Lobos could all but clinch the district title this coming Friday when the Ladycats visit to Lobo Stadium. Pine Tree registered a massive 2-0 win over the Lady Tigers in Mount Pleasant to push the Lady Pirates into the 3rd spot. Still waiting on the Marshall/Texas High score. The top 4 is basically set in this district, just the final seeding all that needs to be figured out.

16-5A: Jacksonville remained undefeated in district play with a big 1-0 win over the Ladycats of Whitehouse. Coupled with Lufkin shutting out Huntsville 2-0, the Lady Panthers jumped over Whitehouse for the #2 spot in district play. This is where that extra point we're missing is coming into play as now the Lady Panthers either have a 3 point lead over Whitehouse or just a 1 point lead. Regardless Lufkin is sitting at #2 right now. Nacogdoches knocked off Tyler 2-0 to put some distance between the top four and the bottom two. Just like 15-5A, it feels like the top 4 in the district is already settled...only final seeding to go. Jacksonville is in full command of the title.

although a little off subject, I saw that Tyler Leegacy lost to Desoto girls in basketball last week.  The Red Raider girls won 30 games this yr. However Desoto is ranked #2 in the nation. They have 7 major Div.1 signees on their team.  SEVEN.  How is this possible at a public school.  Its extremely difficult to have 1 or 2 div. basketball players..They have SEVEN major Div.1 players.  Crazy.   I guess its not different than many other "powerhouse programs" in DFW..both football and basketball.

Just a bad call at end of game gives HP OT victory over JAX. Man. Stings. Baseline official has no call, out of bounds to JAX… and here comes outside official really late with his fist up with a foul on JAX!!!! Free throw wins game for HP with 3 seconds. Ugh! Swallow your whistle dude, it has to be a foul Stevie Wonder can see!!

I feel like I can say this because I officiated college basketball for 10 years. D1 as well. You do not come in and override a play that is going straight at another official. But it’s part of the game… I get it. Just disappointed because JAX was so close to beating one of DFWs best teams.
