15-5A baseball will start on Tuesday.  Looks to be a great race with several

Hallsville, Texas High, and Marshall have been the traditional powers in this district for the last 20 years.  But Sulphur Springs has become a contender the last few years and Longview's program has been on the rise.

Longview (8-2-1)
Hallsville (8-3-2)
Texas High (7-4)
Marshall (7-5)
Pine Tree (?-?)
Mount Pleasant (?-?)
Sulphur Springs (?-?)

Longview has had some signature wins over traditional powers Carthage and Kilgore.  Don't know much about some of their other wins (El Dorado, Fort Smith, FW Chisolm).  The Lobo offense has been very good thus far this spring.  Lobos will be a tough out.

Hallsville has been a beast in this district... and they are coming off a state runner up run from last season.  Their lone losses have been to College Station, Concordia Lutheran, and 4A powerhouse Lindale.  No reason to think the Bobcats aren't still the class of the district until proven otherwise.

Texas High, like Hallsville, has been the top dog in the district.   They have impressive wins Captain Shreve, Ouachita.  They enter district play on a three game losing skid to Benton (La), Haghton (La), and Byrd.

Marshall made another deep playoff run last season in spite of finishing #4 in the district.  They have played a brutal non-district schedule this season.  3 of their 5 losses have come at the hands of defending state champion Glenbrook.  They have wins over defending state champ Pleasant Grove, two wins over 4A powerhouse Lindale, and Pleasant Grove.

Can't find much on MP, SS, and PT..... but traditionally SS and MP are strong in baseball.

PT has struggled as of late.

TBH..... outside of Hallsville and Texas High....  this race could prove to be wide open for 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Like I said....should be a great race.

Pine Tree needed a win today to at least put pressure on Hallsville going into the Cats' last regular season game tomorrow.

Pirates will need a monumental comeback now, as they trail Longview 4-0 late in the first half at home.

Longview defeats Pine Tree, 6-1. Largest win ever at Pine Tree for the Lobos.

4 teams for 15-5A have been clinched.

Mount Pleasant needs to just reach a shootout tomorrow to clinch the district title. Lobos can only fall to 2nd.

Sulphur Springs/Hallsville will be 3rd or 4th.

Hallsville baseball opens up district play by beating Longview 5-2!!

Hallsville is the best team in that district. I watched them beat Lufkin twice last week in a tourney in Lufkin 6-2 and 9-0, the first game was competitive for a while, however Lufkin had run out of pitching by that second game and Lufkin could not hit the ball. Hallsville is an impressive overall team with deep pitching.

Will get all the soccer stuff up and posted tomorrow morning. Still trying to fully recover from COVID, and work's been hell.

Playoffs will a week away. Am sure we'll be ramping up some warm up games soon.

Lobos knock off Lufkin, 12-11, today in Longview.

First victory for Longview over Lufkin since 2004.

Panthers had a 10-0 lead after the top of the 2nd. Lobos roar back and down to their final out, trailing 11-10, in the 7th inning...get two on base and Taylor Tatum brings em home to win it 12-11 over the Panthers.

Last time Longview beat Lp was a district game.
