15-5A BASEBALL STANDINGS
Hallsville (8-1), (16-4-2)

Hallsville beat Texas High 4-0
Longview beat Mount Pleasant 7-2
Sulphur Springs beat Marshall 9-4
Pine Tree- OFF

Hallsville may have all but sealed the district championship Thursday night with their win over Texarkana.  The Bobcats now have a two game lead over the Tigers with only 3 games remaining.  MP fell to Longview as the Tigers are clinging to a half game lead for third over the Lobos.  Longview has a one game lead for fourth over Pine Tree, who was idle from district play.

Hallsville beat Texas High 13-0
Sulphur Springs beat Marshall 7-0
Mt. Pleasant beat Longview 7-4
Pine Tree- OFF

State ranked Sulphur Springs earned their 21st win of the season thanks to their win over Marshall.  Hallsville also made easy work of Texas High to stay firmly in the second place slot.  MP beat Longview to keep themselves in third.  Longview has a 2 game lead for the final playoff spot with 2 games remaining.  Marshall in danger of missing the playoffs in back to back seasons for the first time in program history.

Lufkin beat Whitehouse 7-1
Nacogdoches beat Huntsville 5-1
Jacksonville beat Tyler 14-4

Lufkin continues to inch their way to the district championship thanks to another win over Whitehouse.  However, Nacogdoches is lurking just one game behind the Panthers with their win over Huntsville.  Jacksonville moved up to the #4 slot thanks to their win over Tyler.

Huntsville beat Nacogdoches 5-0
Jacksonville beat Tyler 14-2
Lufkin beat Whitehouse 8-7

Huntsville clinched the district championship Thursday with their win over Nac.  Nac's loss coupled with LP's win over WH has the Lady Dragons and Lady Panthers tied up for the #2 slot in the standings.  This sets up a MONSTER game on Friday when Lufkin closes out the regular season at Nac.

It's still a little early to say for sure how things will round out....particularly for baseball.  But this is how the playoffs could be shaking out or the Bi-district round

Hallsville made easy work of Marshall to keep their two game cushion for first place intact.  Texas High beat Longview in a pitcher's dual to keep their hold on second place.  Mount Pleasant was idle and sits in third place.  Sulphur Springs kept their season alive with a big win over Pine Tree, pulling within half a game of Longview for the fourth and final playoff slot.  Longview has Marshall, Pine Tree, and Sulphur Springs left on the schedule.  The Wildcats are idle Friday then close next week with Hallsville and Longview.

The Sulphur Springs Ladycats wrapped up a perfect district record with their win over Pine Tree.  They will be off Friday as the rest of the district closes out loop play.  Hallsville has clinched the second place slot.  MP and Longview are knotted up for third place and they have both clinched playoff berths.  They split their series, setting up a possible tiebreaker game if they both win Friday.  Longview closes Vs, Marshall on Friday while MP hosts Texas High.

LP maintained their one game lead over Nac for the district title.  Nac kept pace with LP with their win.  Whitehouse solidified their third place slot.  Jacksonville has a paper-thin lead for the final playoff slot over Huntsville.  Knowing how much Lufkin and Nacogdoches love each other.... their games Vs. one another next Tuesday and Friday are HUGE.  Barring upsets this Friday.....  Lufkin can clinch the district title with a win over Nac on Tuesday.  A Nac win would set up a winner-take-all game on Friday in Lufkin.

District Champion Lady Hornets are cruising.  Nac and Lufkin are knotted up for second place and will battle it out this Friday in a big game.  Whitehouse has clinched the fourth place spot.  Jacksonville and Tyler have been eliminated.
