Let me just reiterate one more time how proud I am that this was a blow out because of the one idiot who yelled at hurt kids to "get off the field" in that 2019 game.

Ol Trueblue’s random thoughts:

Groveton is a shell of the team that knocked us out of the playoffs two years ago. I know that was a big senior class, but the dropoff is huge. I also don’t know if it’s because they possibly aren’t in good enough shape to play both ways or what, but their three best athletes did not play defense. Keeping them fresh for offense didn’t seem to matter. I think the week off from practice really hurt them as well, although probably not as badly as our defensive front did. Jayden Cater and Ethan Davis wreaked havoc in the middle. Groveton constantly tried to double one of them, which meant the other was one on one and finding his way into the backfield. Offensively, five new starters in our front seven seem to be gelling quite nicely. I doubt we matched the 550 yards of offense we put up against Beckville, because we had several short fields and two non-offensive TDs. All in all, a good night all the way around for the Rams. I’ll post a thread for the Ore City game later today.
