Melissa at Paris

Melissa scores a 71 yd strike from Fennegan to uncovered speedster Jayvon Smith running free and wide open.  Then on the kickoff, Paris again fumbled the pooch kick and Melissa recovered.  They are driving again from the inside the Paris 35.

Melissa 17-0 so far.......it's been all Melissa on offense.  The Melissa D has held the Wildcats on 4th down twice already.......ball went over on downs deep inside Melissa territory both times.

Another great catch in the endzone by another Cardinal receiver.......they are like a swarm of bees out there running around.  Fennegan sits back there and fires it.......his receivers keep coming up with the catches.    23-0 now and a nightmare happening for the Paris faithful.  Everything that can go wrong early has for the Wildcats.

Paris should just blitz Fennegan every play.......and forget about pass coverage.  Doesn't do any good anyway the way the receivers are finding the open seams.  Fennegan is just picking them apart with so much time......and so many chances if he does miss or get a penalty called. Paris has been able to stop the runs.......but that's about it.  The passing game is killing the Paris D.

Melissa   23

Paris          7

Halftime

Melissa is on schedule for a team record for penalties in a game......they may have set the record for a half already. Lots of holding both offensive and in the secondary.  One personal foul from the Melissa sideline on that last drive after a called penalty before that.  So that was a free 15 yds tacked on to the original penalty.

Last time Melissa traveled to Paris in 2018 the Cards had 21 penalties to Cats 5. Tonight 14 to 3 penalty margin at half. Weird stuff happens up here. Mel lead that game 19-7 at half and lost 28-25. This game far from over.

Melissa scores on their first series of the 2nd half as Fennegan sprints to the pylon about 22 yds on a busted play.  30-7 now.   I only see about 400 fans on the Melissa side of the field......not very many for a fanbase as large as they have and Paris not being that far of a drive.  Kind of disappointing if you ask me.

The nightmare continues for Paris as Melissa had them 4th and 32 after a series of penalties and thrown for a loss.  The Paris punt attempt was blocked and recovered on the one and scooped up into the endzone for another easy TD.  Paris just has no answer for the onslaught coming at them from both the Melissa D and the Melissa offense.

37-10 still in the 3rd

Still 9 min. left in the 4th qtr, but Paris is just taking their time now without any urgency.  The Wildcats started on the wrong foot and never was able to get themselves evened up for a chance of winning this game. Now a fumble and Melissa gets on it.  And the nightmare continues with still over 8 minutes left as EVERYTHING is going Melissa's way.  You get behind the 8-ball and sometimes it's just tough to find your way clear.
