Melissa finally puts in a whole new offense including #1 Soph QB Walker Overman(5-8/145)......along with a host of other players that need some playing time.  Overman's first name might be Walker, but he's nothing short of another speedster at QB.  The guy has some wheels for sure.

Cardinals try and convert a 37 yd field goal with 2 min. left.......47-10 now.  I would say that other than so many penalties committed by Melissa.......they looked very dominating tonight against Paris on both sides of the ball.

Now the ball is out again for Paris on offense and Cardinals get the football again.  Just kill the clock.....less than 60 secs. left now.

Fennegan looks just like a field general out there the past two weeks.  He looked pretty good starting out the season too......but somehow the rest of the team wasn't up to his level until now.  Melissa did the whack attack again tonight against a very good Paris team like they did last week against a very good Heritage team that just so happened to put the whack attack on previously unbeaten Springtown tonight.  I guess Melissa has one of the best whack attacks around in 4A right now, huh?

Melissa goes to (3-2)(1-0) on the season with 2 early losses to Celina(4-1) and Frisco Memorial(4-1), both very good teams this season.  Paris drops to (2-2)(0-1) on the season with losses to Celina and now Melissa, both very good teams this season.  It has become very obvious.....at least to this viewer and follower of quality 4A football teams......that Melissa is much improved as a team now than they were even two weeks ago.  The Cardinals just have so many talented players and speed at so many positions, but everything goes thru Fennegan at QB.  Without him back there controlling the action and accurately delivering the ball on time and on target to so many different backs and receivers......all with speed and talent......Melissa would not be nearly as formidable of an offensive juggernaut as they will be for the rest of the season. His experience, poise, decision-making, quick release, and arm strength might be the best in all of 4A at the QB position. In fact......Sam Fennegan IS the best QB in 4A this season IMHO.  He has speed and power also when he takes off on keepers and scrambles to keep plays alive.  His vision of the field and poise under pressure is very impressive.  And he's very strong physically with a very strong arm at this level.  IF he can stay healthy, then Melissa is a force to be reckoned with by every team they will meet.......without question.  Melissa shored up their defense with some great talent also......speed, size, depth, and quickness......they are equally impressive as a unit.  The linebackers are very good.  Melissa will be the best team overall that Argyle will face until deep into the playoffs IMO.......better now than Celina was when Argyle played the Bobcats.  Next week's game in Melissa will be worth the watch, for sure.
