3-7 Nac Dragons @ 10-0 #8 Montgomery Bears

Game is Friday November 12th at 7pm at Montgomery ISD Stadium

The Dragons back into the playoff losing their last two games by a combine score 65-27. Nac snuck in after a win over Hallsville and take the #4 seed. Their reward is the #8 in the state the Montgomery Bears, who went 10-0 on the season. The bears are averaging 41.4 points a game and giving up only 25 p/pg. The Dragons haven't scored above 30 all season averaging 17 p/pg and giving up 25 per game.

This will be the first ever meeting between Montgomery and Nac.

This will be an up hill battle for the Dragons, they aren't entering the playoffs playing their best football and have not really put a full game together all season.

Pulling for Nac.  But I think Montgomery is going to be too much.

Nac’s offense seems to lack an identity.  The passing game was non-existent (last night at least) and they didn’t have the hogs to open up many holes for their running game.

Defense was definitely their strength.  If they can force some turnovers they might can get some points to force a close game.

Wish Nac the best!  Tough road ahead for y’all.   All of us really.

Story of the year, passing game has killed us. Running game has done well in our wins and not in our losses. Defense is on the field too much, defense does everything they can to keep us in games but only so much you can do being on the field that long. Our QB that is playing now is more of a runner than a passer. The Sophomore that got hurt against TH is more of a dual threat but he just isn't ready yet. He will be a 2 year starter and as he gains a little weight and strength he will be very good. You could tell the varsity game just hasn't slowed down for him yet.

Way too much offense for Montgomery.  Nac will have to score more than 30 to win this one.

Nothing they have done this year shows me they can score like that. The few times they have scored over 20 the defense has scored a TD on an INT return. Nac will have to run the ball shorten the game but keep the ball long enough for the defense to try and keep it close.

Montgomery's lowest offense output this year was 23 points against Beaumont United a 5a-D1 and 27 against Porter a 5a-D1. They did not score less than 35 against their district.

Montgomery by 40+

I think this is the same type game as Texas High was. Nac has to play a perfect game and catch Montgomery not playing their best game. I think Nac can keep it close through halftime, but playing both ways and  if the offense cant score Montgomery will pull away after half.

That would be awesome 👏 tough task. However, they did prove they could at least play with a big boy team Texas High and a lesser extent Lufkin.

I don’t think hanging with Lufkin this season really meant much.

You’re talking about Nac and was closer than anticipated. Nac hasn’t beaten them like twice in 30 years. That is pretty good feat lol. Also beat season is like 6-5 so any positive is great.

lufkin won 22-16 where you get double digits?

The last win was 2014

That’s the narrative that the players ought to want to erase.

This.
Losing to a losing team is nothing to consider a moral victory IMHO.

Nac is looking to take the next step…. Losing that mentality has got to be part of it.

It’s definitely a challenge to change but, it starts with the kids. They have to believe in themselves even if no one else does!

Mont is very good just not sold yet on district as a whole will find out for sure after games today . Too many close games week to week. Montgomery  gave up 45 points last week to lake creek. 30 to Huntsville the week before. Had to pull away from Fulshear early in district but still gave up 30 + . hard for any team to win a playoff rd game but pullin for Nac hope they can pull it out.
