Maxpreps(Calpreps) has Boles ranked #40(-13.7) in 2A-D2 while Bremond is ranked #51(-20.7). They have Boles as a 7 point Favorite.

Boles best wins are over 2A-1 #74 Como-Pickton(26-8), #56 Simms Bowie(44-20), & #67 Clarksville(47-8). They have loses to 2A-D1 #18 Celeste(48-14) and 2A-D1 #51 Hawkins(41-8)& District 9 champ #27 Maud(36-22).

Bremond's best wins are over #34 Wortham(34-12), #57 Hubbard(43-35) & 2A-1 #77 Dawson(40-26). They have played a tough schedule and have blowout losses to #1 Mart(52-6), 2A-D1 #10 Centerville(56-7), #14 Chilton(41-0) and 2A-D1 #49 Normangee(49-13). They have bad losses to teams ranked below them in #55 Milano(34-24) and 2A-1 # 84 Axtell(36-28).

Boles is missing stats for the detroit game. They are led by Jr. QB/FS Gabriel Drennan (152 car, 1087(7.2) yards, 19 TDs; 51-76 passing, 672(13.2) yards 5TD-4INT; 36 Tackles(10 solo), 2 Int), Sr. LB/RB Donovan Barnes (92 Tackles(39 Solo, 6 TFL); 136 car 740(5.4) yards 15 TDs(14 rush, 1 Rec),& Jr. CB/WR  Wyatt Staggs (8 Int, 39 Tackles( 22 solo); 19 Rec 224(11.8) Yards 4 TDs).

Bremond is missing stats for Chilton game. According to Maxpreps stats, they are led by Fr. QB/DB Braylen Wortham(135 car, 847 yards(6.3) yards, 8 Tds; 46-98 passing, 693(15.1) yards 7 TDs-6 INT; 61 Tackles(31 Solo), Sr. RB/DL David Williams( 134 car, 778(5.8) yards 10 Tds; 67 Tackles(22 solo) 2 fumbles caused)& So. LB Gael Carrizales(89 Tackles(24 solo), 3 INTs.

I noticed that when looking at the stats.  A lot of Freshman and Sophomores with big roles. If Bremond plays that the way they did versus Wortham should be a good game. I'm going with Boles though. Boles has more experienced players and seemed to be the more explosive team.

Whoever wins this game gets the winner of Evadale/Cushing. Any of the 4 teams could make it to the 3rd round.

A lot of the older kids quit and didnt play on the team this year... They dont have a JV because most of the team is freshman and sophomore. The younger class coming up is pretty good. They should be back to normal in a year or two

And if one of those Dynamic players gets hurt it can effect your team greatly. In the 08 1A-D1 State Semi-final game Boles lost its stud RB/CB Joe Gilliard to a broken ankle making a tackle on the first drive of the game. It was supposed to be a shootout but after that it really changed the feeling of the game and Canadian was up 48-0 at the half, before winning 68-27. Gilliard had 560 yards, 11 Tds in the 3 playoffs games beforehand with 2 INTs on defense. He was their best offensive Weapon and Coverage player so the offense wasn't as effective and the defensive had major trouble covering Canadian's Spread attack. Boles still had its other all-state RB Lane Sutton and QB Kailob Wallace but they were only sophomores and not quite as dynamic. The 27 points Boles scored was the most Canadian gave up all year. In 08, both 1A champions were from the same district with Canadian winning D1 and Stratford winning D2. Both had dropped down from 2A with Canadian winning the 2A-D2 championship in 07.

I have also seen dynamic players on bad team were the only chance they have to score is on trick plays and returns because the defense can key on them since there are no other great athletes or lineman on the team.
