regaleagle Posted December 4, 2021 Share Posted December 4, 2021 The very next play Lambert hit Eakin for that 95 yd pass and catch that was the highlight play in this game. Then it went downhill for Melissa in the secondary and Stephenville got another long play from Lambert to Eakin on 3rd and 28 from their own 3 yd line. Then Lambert hit Eakin again as he got behind the Melissa secondary a third time in a row for a big TD strike.....it was almost unbelievable how the Melissa secondary fell apart. Stephenville took advantage of Melissa mistakes and made them count to advance. Kudos to Lambert, Eakin, and Elston against a very game Melissa team. regaleagle Posted December 4, 2021 Share Posted December 4, 2021 This season's Stephenville Yellowjackets are a high quality team. They are well disciplined, don't cough up the football, cause turnovers, and capitalize on their opponents' mistakes. There is a good nucleus on offense with quality playmakers, an excellent kicking team, and a hard-nosed defense with great LB's and secondary. The Yellowjackets just defeated two of the top teams in 4A when they were down. But more importantly, in both games they caused some turnovers and capitalized on them to win. I think Stephenville has an excellent team chemistry and tons of desire to get to Jerryworld after all of these years of getting knocked out in the playoffs. I'm not sure they can win an SC title this season or not, but they will give it the very best effort they can possibly muster. They do NOT make many mistakes......that is a big plus. Colossal mistake not taking those points. Thats just Melissa history. Eventually they do something stupid that cost them games in the playoffs.
