If you liked old school football you loved this defensive slugfest. It was clear that the team who executed the best in the fourth quarter would be the winner. North Shore freshmen connected on the long pass. Duncanville receiver dropped a potential touchdown. At minimum DV gets four downs within the 10 yard line.

Just watched this game again on Bally Sports......like all the games being replayed during the holidays.  Actually, I feel badly for Duncanville......they really really had a great defense and played toe-to-toe with Northshore the whole game.  They just did not make some important receptions on offense for those big plays......their receivers dropped or just did not catch balls that most quality Texas high school receivers at even the 3A level catch.  Then that accidental run into the punt returner that had called a fair catch that gave NS a 15-yd improvement to the DV 39......the very next play on first down the NS qb had all day and hit Amador on a deep slant over the middle into the endzone for the winning score.  That one play made the difference on the scoreboard for NS to get another SC title.....3 in the last 4 yrs.......but IMO it was the DV offense not being able to convert on those good throws when the ball was right there for the receiver to catch.  They must have missed at least 4 big ones that come to mind.  I really wanted DV to get this win......but they"dropped the ball" literally when it counted most.  And when you do that repeatedly against a team like NS.....and really any quality team......more than likely you are going home crying.  And there's no crying in football.
