It appears from the outside that the Tenaha  job not what it was at one time.   Pay is great they say.   Alto and Carlisle dropping to 2A D2 and will be in same district I’m sure.  There has to be a reason everyone keeps leaving that place .

Ward left after a lot of success

Horn left but I don't think he saw Tenaha as long term

Greg Jenkins stepped down but stayed on staff

Templin stepped down but is still on staff

Jeremy Jenkins had been in Tenaha left and came back.   Seemed to be the guy but apparently the family was unhappy here.  Which is unfortunate but understandable.

So really only 3 guys left since 2009.  Its really not the way it seems.

A few of the guys that got head coach were basically appointed and not hired.  We haven't really gotten to do a good deep head coaching search and hiring process since Horn.   Tenaha gonna make a great hire this time I'm fairly certain of that.

First HFC/AD hire that Tyner won't have a hand in for some time.........I am interested to see what happens with this one.

Maybe that's a big positive for us????   Idk.  Tyner is a really smart guy.

One home town guy that has head coaching experience that no one seems to be talking about around Tenaha is Darius Ingram.   Every time Tenaha has been open in the past his name got floated but not this time.   I don't know.

Ponder will be the guy that everyone wants.   Not saying he will get hired.  But hes the guy everyone thinks will get it.  Rumor is since day one Center Texas school board members have been calling Tenaha citizens dragging Ponder through the mud and telling people not to hire him.  Ain't that trashy if true?

Personally I'm not anti Ponder or anything like that.   Hes just not the guy that I hope gets the job.   I have made my choice although Gabriel Owens  choice doesn't matter in Tenaha texas.  Lol.  Definitely wish I had a little pull.  Lol.  My guy fits us in the short term but also he fits us for the next generation.   Just gotta get the guy an interview and let the Good Lord do the rest.

Great points, Center can say what they want but Ponder won there and they went 1-9 this past season. He's won everywhere he's been. Center New Supt ran off Ponder and that guy is anti-athletics. Center needs to worry about there own Supt.

Maybe RJ could come back home and get the Tigers back on track!

Could you even imagine if Randy Jackson decided he wanted to retire in Tenaha texas and take up his father's legacy.   I mean they'd probably make a movie about it.

Lol.  They'd definitely make a movie about it if my guy gets the job.   Its just that crazy.

Anybody looked at how many playoff wins he has since he left WF Ryder 12 seasons ago?

Yes.  I have.   And I followed him closely when he was at bells.

I've also looked at how many points his teams allow.   Hes not my first choice but if he's hired I'll support him 100%.

No matter who gets the job Tenaha will be very good for the next 3 years.  We have  a great sophomore and freshman class. But the right hire can stretch that out.  My guy is the one.   I just need someone that actually matters to give me a chance to lay it all out for them.

I just want to get my man in the interview.

If Tenaha gives 7 interviews Ponder is going to be one so that leaves 6 spots.  Get my man in there and ya still have 5 spots to go after a "big fish".   Please man someone just give me a chance.

Yes. "Center Sup is anti-athletics", among the more ridiculous statements ever made.

Why did Center go 1-9? The Supt at Center wanted his own guy. Its how the business works but he went about it all wrong. There's a reason they went 1-9.

Took half the season to realize they needed to get Mar Mar the football.

Wouldn't surprise me if Mar Mar plays in Tenaha next year if they hire Ponder.  At least that's a big rumor and that's why Center Texas is crapping in their britches.

There will be a "reason" why they make the playoffs next year as well. I guess everyone will become "smart" all of a sudden? Or maybe learn how to coach?

How much winning has he done the last 12 years?  I'm seeing 2 playoff wins(unless I missed one).  One against 2-8 Clarksville and one against 4-6 Connally. Every 6 years he has been averaging a first round win against a team with a losing record.   Have to play defense to win playoff games.

Play defense run football to win in December.

97 Rogers team showed me all I needed to know.   You can win throwing the football.   But you can't control the weather.

I remember that 97 Rogers team:  Hutka and Co with their run and shoot offense......UGH.  We lost that semi-final game at Kyle Field and it stung.  My father-in-law used to joke about that game:  their "run & shoot" offense vs our "stand & watch" defense!  😂😜🤣 My father-in-law has a little bit of a sense of humor! lol

Not much turnover at all until recently.  I applaud the Tenaha kids for being able to stay competitive.  Generally that doesn't bode well for a program to have a different leader every year or so but these Tenaha players have just kept it together, grinding and winning ball games.  It will be nice for THE KIDS especially if they can get somebody in there that wants to stay a while and build some continuity.  You know how kids are:  they buy in and become very loyal.  Of course like you said, Greezy, the last three have been inside hires so the kids already had relationships with them; I'm sure that has made it easier.

All the best, Greezy!  Maybe your guy will be it. lol

Seniors that graduated last year played for 4 different head coaches.   We still winning games.   We still have good kids.  All is not lost.  Nobody is panicking.   We're finally in a good position to make a great hire.
