This year is gonna be more like slaughter a panther lol

The game actually worries me especially if AMC beats Lufkin handily…

- not a good place for the Lobos historically at Abe

- solid rivalry and Lufkin tired of losing

- looking ahead to Lancaster

recipe for disaster to me…but we got Legacy first.

Some quick thoughts after this week...

It's time to buy stock on...McKinney North. I originally had the Bulldogs tabbed as a playoff team but when Fecci stepped down from HC...I stepped back. Well guess what, North is still winning lol 2-0 and all of a sudden looking down the barrow of 3-0 going into that Week 4 matchup against Lancaster. '24 back Jayden Walker went off for 325 tonight...man this district has some talented backs.

So, the stage is set.

McKinney North won big tonight, while Lancaster lost big tonight.

Two different levels of competition...I know. None the less, what an interesting matchup next week between MN and Lancaster...in what should be a crazy storyline filled opening week in this district.

I agree...definitely two different levels of competition.  What I am interested in this game is the MN offense.  They are diverse and pretty balanced.  I want to see how they do against Lancaster's speed and back end.  That will tell us a lot about when we face either team.

Truth is Legacy has good depth at QB position next 2 years. Plus i don't believe this rediculious 2-8 talk and struggling yall are talking about. That don't even matchup cause the people coming back on defense.  Young offense but good defense and i said bigtime QB.

bahahahahahahahaha.

More quick thoughts after this week...

Question, Just how good is...McKinney North? 3-0 for the first time since 2015. Strength of schedule may not jump at you so far, but they're handling up on these teams like theyre supposed to and we're about to find out about the Bulldogs this week as they travel to Lancaster. In the meantime, the MN offense has been the most explosive offense in the district, not named Longview. No one has been able to stop D1 RB Jayden Walker yet. Through 3 games, Walker is averaging a whopping 221 rushing yards per game, which is leading the district by far. Very interesting game going down in Lancaster Friday. JR QB Colin Hitchcock visited Texas Tech today.

Quietly lurking is...West Mesquite. 3-0  start for the first time since 2017, while outscoring their opponents on average of 48-16 so far. We have not given West Mesquite enough talk so far...but personally...I'm not sold yet because the SOS is so bad. Every team that WM has faced this year is winless, except Chisholm Trail who has 1 win. I'm not falling for the bait and I think most others feel the same. But if West is going to get us off the fence, a win against a decent Forney squad certainly would help the cause. Another solid opening week matchup in this district.

200...total wins that Coach John King at Longview now has after that 69-0 thrashing of rival Tyler Legacy. Major milestone reached by Coach K, who is always quick to give the Longview community its props for the football program seeing the consistency that it has. It takes a village for sure, but it also takes a competent leader to have that much success. Congrats to Coach King, plenty more wins to come.

Coach K is going for win 201 against...a surging Lufkin team that could be game of the week not only in this district, but the region. Lufkin is 3-0 for the first time since John Outlaw was here. There have been opportunities for Lufkin to hit 3-0 since then numerous times, but a certain program has been a thorn in their side and that program is coming to Abe Martin Friday night with a #1 ranking, and rolling. Here's what's weird. IMO, Lufkin typically doesn't get better as the season progresses in the Todd Quick era, but every now and then, Lufkin pops up with a 2012 or 2017....which are 5 years apart. 2022 is 5 years from 2017...so could this be another one of those teams? We'll see, but expecting a sold out game at Abe Friday (I'm even flying in for it lol)

You absolutely do not want to lose this week if you're...North Mesquite or Tyler High...who play one another in an important game at Rose Friday night. Loser can pretty much hang it up because things only become way more challenging moving forward for both teams. Tyler High has been an interesting story so far this season. There was a lot of optimism for that program coming into the season. With all of the talented players that CUJO had returning, DCTF even had them tabbed as a top 25 squad who could compete for a district title. 4 weeks later, they're still searching for their first win and things don't get any easier with North Mesquite coming to town. NM is 1-2, so the Stallions have a ton to prove on their end as well because like Tyler, the Stallions also have a talented roster that doesn't really match the record.

This is crazy isn’t it? I told someone the other night that was our first 3-0 start since outlaw and they were like no way.. Yes way. Thank Longview for the majority of those 2-1 starts lol.. I also caught the 5 year apart seasons.. 2012 was purely for outlaw. Should’ve never lost to Plano west but that’s another story for another time. 2017, well y’all know how that goes. So yeah, I guess it’s time to make a little run again. However, 4-0 is highly unlikely but not impossible. I really need to see some competitiveness against the Lobos to start believing. And I don’t mean 5 Longview turnovers that keep us in it either. Still looking forward to Friday though. Ready to check out this #1 team and see where the Pack really stands. I’m interested to hear yalls opinions afterwards. Close game or blowout. I’ll be waiting to hear what y’all have to say lol
