Mavchamp
I hate that for the athletes and the fans. Like I said.... injuries have plagued Marshall sooo much the last few years. So I feel that pain. Question is...... will the Tigers "next man up" their way to the district title again..... or has the door cracked a little for Marshall, Hallsville, and WH to challenge them? Ace1122
Whitehouse up 41-21 after three. By the way, Henderson has 5 personal fouls, including punching a kid, Whitehouse has zero. Henderson is a complete disaster.
RogerDorn
Defense played good for T High. Tyler Legacy had a fake punt that helped them get the 3 ...Definitely a different look on offense but can’t be mad at 27-3 at half with 300 yards of offense 2 passing TD’s...2nd half was sloppy , bad snaps killed 2 if not 3 drives in the 2nd half
Mavchamp
(6-1) on my district picks this week. I knew that homer pick was going to bite me in the rear. (21-7) on the season for 8-5A. Gonna be a fun race
Mavchamp
I'll be interested in seeing the breakdown of each game....but this is what we got STANDINGS Whitehouse (4-0) Texas High (3-1) Hallsville (3-1) Marshall (2-2) Mount Pleasant (1-3) Nacogdoches (0-4) Pine Tree (0-4) Texas High beat Tyler Legacy 27-3: It wasn't the beatdown Longview handed Legacy last week, but the Tigers made quick work of the Red Raiders. Starting the game with a 94 yard run was a good start. The question for the Tigers is how will they proceed into district with their starting QB and starting RB out for the season. History says THS will be just fine. The TIgers are the two-time defending district champs until someone finally knocks them off. Carthage beat Marshall 42-0: Don't be fooled. This game wasn't as close as it looks. Carthage dominated the Mavs in every facet of the game for the entire game. Marshall's two losses are both blowouts to #1 teams....so it's hard to gauge where they are. They were dominating in their wins. Marshall has run the ball well enough against everyone this season....until Carthage, who held the Mavs to 130 total yards. Mav defense looked great in their wins, but porous in their losses.Chapel Hill beat Nacogdoches 42-17: Things don't appear to be getting any better for Nac this season. This was their third dominating loss in a row. The Dragon defense has been giving up a lot of points per game.... over 35 in each game in fact. Their offense has shown flashes...but is inconsistent at best. Hard to tell which direction this team will go when district gets started. Looks like an uphill battle at the moment. Whitehouse beat Henderson 57-28Kilgore beat Hallsville 41-20: Kilgore was able to ground the high-flying Hallsville defense most of the night. It looked like a 41-14 Bulldog win but a late score made it look a little closer. No one has really managed to slow the Bobcats down this season. But true to form....Hallsville gave up a bushel of points. No doubt Hallsville's offense is dangerous. But will their defense be able to hold on to some district wins?Frisco Emerson beat Mount Pleasant 34-17: Penalties, shaky defense, inconsistent offense, and lack of discipline have all been issues for the TIgers this season. Their offense can be dangerous. Their defense has had moments of stinginess. But ill-timed turnovers, special team mistakes, and penalties have plagued the Tigers all season. MP can't be overlooked.... but they are beatable. Especially when they beat themselves.Jacksonville beat Pine Tree 31-21: Pine Tree's defense has been questionably for much of the last decade or more....but their offense has been good enough to bail them out. This year the defensive struggles have continued....but the offense has yet to prove that it can pick up the slack. Looks like a tough year is remaining for the Pirates...but it would be unwise to overlook them. They could ruin someone's playoff plans.
LoboFan07
Pine Tree might not win a game this year. Oof. MP deserves a better record than they have, but seems like that has been the case for a while now. Nac seems really down this year. The top 4 seems really wide open with the injury issues T High is having, the off and on of Marshall and the resurgence of WH and Hallsville. Should be a fun race. Nacs defense is giving up some points, but Nacs offense has had 7 turnovers returned for touchdowns in 4 games. 2 more last night and a 3rd one was prevented by the running being called down by contact. Nacs problem is the QB play, missing open receivers forcing the ball down field into double coverage and not feeling backside pressure. Nac forced 4 turnovers last night and came away with zero point from the turnovers.

missionimpossible
Nac appears to me to have the players. They look loaded, but play with no passion. They walk on and off the field. Watched them last night, and was embarrassed for them. They have 20 starters back from last year. They throw deep ball 3 of every 5 passes. Overthrows most of the time. Looks like Allman is calling the offense and defense. What a drop off from when he took over. Maybe its time to make a clean move after this disastrous season.
