Lobos knocked off Camden Fairview JV 62-24, then defeated Dermott, AR last night (unsure of score).

Will play El Dorado, AR in the Championship showdown of the Camden Fairview Holiday Classic tonight at 8 pm.

Lobos now 15-2 on the year.

Longview should win this tournament  the team they are playing  in the finals is only 4 and 8 on the year. Eldorado usually is decent  but is way down this year.

Lobos improve to 17-2 (1-1) with a 51-48 win over Marshall. Sloppy, sloppy game from Longview.

Lady Lobos roll over Marshall for their first win over the Lady Mavs in nearly 7 years. Lady Lobos are now 17-6 (3-1) on the year.

This should be a huge story. The progress Coach Leggett has made in Year 1 is nothing short of remarkable.

Absolutely.

3-1 in district, 17-6 overall. We had 10 TOTAL wins the last two seasons COMBINED. Just unreal what she's been able to do.

I have no idea what happened in the 9 point loss to Paris, but every other loss was completely winnable.
Led the entire way against Timpson, but lost in the final minute.
Lost on a buzzer beater to Quitman by two.
Lost to Scurry-Rosser on a buzzer beat by one.
Led the entire way against Tyler then the Lady Lions had free throws that extended the led to 7 in the final minute.
Had four chances to win against Mount Vernon in the final minute but couldn't get it to go in a 2 point loss.

The amount of freshmen and sophomores on the team is staggering as well.

Exciting to see what Leggett has done, and will continue to do.

Home run hire thus far.

Crazy part?

Both teams are young. The boys team in particular is going to be nuts next season.

Lobos got a massive 65-49 win over Texas High tonight to draw back to 2-2 in district play. A must win really to stay alive in playoff race (even though it's still early).

Lady Lobos continue to just impress in their turn around. Lady Lobos clawed back from down 10 at halftime to knock off T High, 38-36.

Longview was 5-19 combined in district play the last two seasons. To be 5-1 after just 6 games this season is pretty unreal (and they led the entire game until the 4th quarter in their one loss). Their first win over Texas High since 2016, their first district win in Texarkana since 2010. Still don't see them winning district obviously, but man, what an impressive turnaround. Lady Lobos are a single win away from double their total output of combined wins the last two seasons.

Indeed, competitive is all I ask for! Playoffs are gravy, but I'll take a solid, well-coached team who competes game in and game out. We all know that Longview has far too many athletes walking the halls to not have competitive hoops squads.
