It’s a shame how little coverage there is for the area track meet.

Can’t find team standings or scores and times.

Just a ton of random twitter posts from different ISDs.

Coaches should do better to get the info out there.  Media should do better getting it published.

shame. Shame. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, East Texas track coaches (every single one) fail to properly advertise kids these days. There are some that do a decent job but I'm not overly impressed by anyone. Those guys in the cities and other areas of the state have it going on. Media....no comment.

I have connects but I shouldn't have to go under the table to get track results. lol

That should be widely and publicly disseminated.

Of course, there are websites like Athletic and MileSplit but it's hit or miss.

💯. I agree.  It’s frustrating.

We get it.  Our times aren’t on the Duncanville, DeSoto, Lancaster, FB Marshall levels….. but a lot of these ETX kids deserve some scholarship attention from the smaller universities too.

Free college money is free college money no matter if it’s at the University of Texas or the University of Arkansas of Monticello.

Over in 16-5A..

Huntsville used a 13-inning walk off victory over New Caney Porter to force a tie breaker between the two on Monday for top seed.

Humble Kingwood Park finished 3rd.

Dayton finished 4th.

Lufkin and Nac finished in the bottom.

15-5A BASEBALL STANDINGS
Hallsville (12-1)
Whitehouse (11-2)
Texas High (8-5)
Longview (7-6)
Marshall (5-8)
Mount Pleasant (4-9)
Tyler (3-10)
Pine Tree (2-11)

Game 13 on 4/24 and 25
Whitehouse beat Longview  6-2
Hallsville beat Marshall 6-2
Texas High beat Pine Tree 14-5
Mount Pleasant beat Tyler 5-2

Hallsville remains one game ahead of Whitehouse headed into the regular season finale on Friday.  Texas High's win over PT combined with Longview's loss to Whitehouse has pushed the Tigers into third place, dropping the Lobos into fourth.

FRIDAY FINALES
Hallsville Vs. Pine Tree- A Bobcat win clinches the District championship for Hallsville.  A loss would drop Hallsville into a tie with Whitehouse for the district championship.

Whitehouse Vs. Marshall- WH has clinched no less than 2nd place.  A win over Marshall and a Hallsville loss would tie them for the district championship.  An upset loss to Marshall would keep them as the #2 seed.

Mount Pleasant Vs. Longview- A Longview win coupled with a Texarkana loss to Tyler would form a tie for third place.  A Longview loss would drop the Lobos to the #4 seed.  If Texas High beats Tyler..... Longview gets the #4 seed even if the Lobos beat MP.

Texas High Vs. Tyler- A Texarkana win gives the Tigers the #3 seed.  A loss coupled with a Longview win over MP forms a tie for third.

Longview somehow upsets New Caney Porter in game 1 last night with a walk 3-2 victory against a potential MLB draftee pitcher. I will never understand Longview baseball.

Saw Texas High also defeated Lufkin in a walk off situation.

Crazy! There have been times where I've watched them and thought, "Dadgum, we could win district this year!" and then the very next game we'll get blown out by some also-ran. I love 'em but they're absolutely bizarro world.
