Twitter showing they made an error of 3 students when reporting number. Apparently after this season, they can leave current district with unanimous vote, and enter a 2ad1 district with a unanimous vote and be eligible for playoffs. At least that is what Stepp is retweeting. Feel bad for the kids and new coach
neveragain
It is very hard to believe that no one in the district was aware how holding the enrollment of 3 students could change their division alignment. I don't know of any other district that does not enter students as soon as possible when they enroll simply because of the financial implications. 1
footballprofessor
I missed the first part, but it seemed they had 3 students not enrolled. Apparently some conflict between the principal and counselor led to know communication between anyone.

According to the Alto superintendent, the coach was let go sometime in the winter months...she says no one was aware of the enrollment issue until May so if everyone is correct on the timeline then Coach Gamble had nothing to do with it. Way too many schedules affected.

Not taking away from the three children…. There has got to be a better way to keep this from happening. 2 years from the playoffs from football. Every other school handled their business. POINT BLANK WE DID NOT. And it’s the kids that ultimately suffer. It’s embarrassing.

neveragain
I feel bad for the new coaches...they took a job at a D2 school with real state championship hopes and now they are not able to compete for a playoff spot. That has to be very disappointing.
JBizzle
So those three kids would have put them in D1? So if not, nobody would have noticed and it wouldn't have mattered. Did they self report? How did it get found out?
MeanGreenDogs64
It sounds like the administration doesn't have their ducks in a row. Shouldn't there be a running log of students enrolled? I feel bad for the kids, they are the victims here. Most of the coaches were previously at Alto, so they already had an idea for how incompetent the administration was. HJR7
Why not fine the school or forfeit a district game or something. Why punish the kids? And would the UIL allow Srs and Jrs to transfer freely since basically they have nothing to play for?
blueflu
The teams who are down in that district are asking "why do we have to play them". uil could have said play outlaw schedule.

What reason does he have to invite another potential playoff team to the party? He could be setting someone up to bump him out of the postseason.
