I like this game for the fact it's somewhat learning and preparation for both teams. The Tigers play Center in a couple of weeks and the birds play Gladewater in district. I think the Dfield staff did well scheduling our non-district. Gladewater Tatum Timpson Center. We will be ready for district and the playoffs this year. We play ball in Dfield....Each team on our non district schedule will be playoff teams this year.. From 2008-2013 The Tigers kept Gilmer on our schedule. That's why from 2008-2010 we went 44-3... After Bowman left and Sardenia came we kept Gilmer on schedule... 2 quarterfinal appearances and State Finalist in 2012... In Dfield History we play teams like Gilmer, Gladewater, Tatum, Celina, Gunter to tune up... This year Timpson and Center when they are supposed to be good.
